Going to miss this kid, copped a lot of flack in his time at Parra but started to win everyone over the last few years. One of the few outside backs we have actually developed lol. Sucks he's off to the bears but best of luck young fella.

Yeah he was great defensively last year. But this year j feel Samrani has outplayed him and shown not only is he as good defensively but better in attack.
Russell is a sound player and actually a smart buy from Perth since he can play across the back 5 and is a solid, honest player. But 4 years for decent coin was too good to pass up for the player he is.

I can attest to that . There seems to be genuine interest here for the Bears , i hope theyre competitive .
The print Media is owned by Channel 7 so being AFL aligned the reporting has been mostly negative , maybe owning the World Cup rights will change that .
As for Russell , ive viewed him as handy to have but not indispensible . Reminds me alot of Michael Erickson in that he can find a hole or make a break but refuse too or be able to get into a position to offload .
The media being negative is why the NRL brought Mal in as a familiar face. It has backfired massively as he is not as charismatic as they think.
I wonder if he would make a good politician.....oh wait.
Mal has the personality and IQ of a tadpole. The NRL will get rid of him quick smart, once the Bears' honeymoon period is over.
