  • I'm going to say it again, the amount of time the ref's let's the panthers hold down our players in the ruck was ridiculous.
    • Yes ruck speed in the second half was completely different to the first half.

Multiple times Panthers players had hands all over the ball in the ruck but weren't pinged.

Having said that we only completed at 30% in the second half and allowed Panthers back into the game multiple times.

    • I agree. Not only that, when we were allowed to finally play the ball the defence was well up inside the 10.

    • Ruck speed is and probably always will be the most inconsistently refereed area of the game.

It's hard to police as it is but when you couple in varying interpretations of what is deemed as a slow peel, or an extra man in the tackle or anything else, you're going to get these inconsistencies and thus teams slowing down the ruck and getting away with it.

  • When Norman plays well we are a big chance of winning any game.
    • Well, the bookies seem to like Penrith for whatever reason.
But yes, the form of Corey does often hinge on us winning the game. Hopefully, this is a start of things to come and he can get back to the consistency that saw him in Dally M contention last year.

  • 10. Tim Mannah - 38 minutes, 121m from 13 runs (9.31m per run), 28 tackles & 1 offload.

    11. Manu Ma'u - 80 minutes, 102m from 13 runs (7.85m per run), 28 tackles & 1 offload.

hmmmmmmmm Timmy went well. The whole team did really because Penrith didn't go through the middle of us like all other teams have. Stupid.

    • Penrith's game is never based through the middle, though. They look to use Cartwright & Peachey on the edges to exploit the slower, less mobile back-rowers and it works against some teams but didn't against us last night.

Our defence held firm for the most part. Just tying in with the above, Penrith's go-forward this year has been quite poor. They have a lot of forwards currently out of form and should be playing some that are somehow languishing in reserve grade.

  • Seems that way, Frankie.
  • Can't believe the amount of holding down the refs allowed in the ruck Ricky, and all from Penrith.

Can't believe we only received 5 penalties unbelievable.
