Triple M's Matty Johns has given us the inside scoop on speculation surrounding Manly playersSteve Matai, Brett Stewart, Anthony Watmough and Daly Cherry-Evans. The latter two linked to big-money deals with Parramatta.
Matty believes "you don't ask for a release unless you're going to walk straight out and into [another club]." Story and full audio below.

"Well, they're [Parramatta] saying they're gonna offer him a million dollars a year for four years. That's not enough. They won't get him for that," said Matty Johns, on Triple M's Grill Team
"I honestly believe you start at $1.2 million. [That would put him up there with] Cameron Smith and Johnathan Thurston."

"Anthony Watmough is on close to a million dollars next year [because] he's on a back-ended contract, so wherever Anthony Watmough is going they're offering huge money and my mail is it's Parramatta… [they're] keen to sign Anthony Watmough," said Matty.

How many players have to leave to accommodate this pair? I'd say about 10.
Folau to dogs was there certainty.
Hoppa to dogs was also in the mix.
They also said that the bulldogs \ Ben Barba rumours are false and that he's staying put.
Turn them off!!! There rubbish!!!!
They Both WILL NOT LEAVE!!! Well DALY CHERRY wil stay 100%
Matty Johns' "mail" probably comes from this site... Watmough to Parra rumours started here about 3-4 weeks ago... I don't recall seeing it mentioned anywhere else...

Even if you hate a colleague and are pissed at your boss
Why would you leave before you were about to earn $950K for one year
I would not think he will get anything near that elsewhere
If I was Manly I would be happy to mutually agree to end the contract and have $950 more for the cap.
Choc is good but not that good.
No matter what club Watmough plays for next year he'll be receiving $950k. If he stays at Manly they will pay all of it, if he goes to another club it's up to each club to sort out what they're going to pay.
That's not how it works lol.
if he leave the new club has to match the offer or if they only offer 400k then manly has to agree to pay the remaining 550k.
why would you want someone at the club who wont put in.
