New perspective

Hi guys,My real name is James and I'm 25, I love the Eels and have been so stoked with how well the boys are going this year :)I've been a member on this site for a while now but have hardly commented or written any blogs. As most on here I also am over all these articles from media stating were losing this many points or that many points, I like most just want it sorted as soon as possible.The real reason I'm writing this though as something has recently happened to me that changed my whole perspective on everything.Earlier this month on a Friday I started to get really bad dizziness and headaches, being a normal healthy young 25 year old bloke I was under the impression "she'll be right mate" but my wife made me go to the docs.He was under the impression it was vertigo or something to do with my ears or something and prescribed me some stemitil and told me to see how I go over the weekend and come back on Monday if I'm still dizzy, Monday came and I was still really dizzy and had bad headaches so the doctor and my wife pushed for me to get a MRI on my brain and I'm glad they did.I was shocked to find out that I have a brain tumor in the stem of my brain which is called diffuse instrinsic pontine glioma. For most neurosurgeons this brain tumor is inoperable due to the brain being such a delicate part of the brain, thankfully I've been able to get an appointment with Dr Charles Teo who operates on the inoperable so here's hoping he can with mine to.So here's the real reason I wrote this blog tonight- we blokes have tendency to think everything is ok no matter how bad certain symptoms are, I was the same and if not for my wife pushing me and my doc I wouldn't have found this tumor and who knows how bad it could of got. Please if there's something going on with your body that's not normal in your day to day life go to your doctor, get it checked as you never know what it might be and if you can get early detection on something life threatening then you'll be thankful you did.Kind regardsJamesPs Go the mighty Eels :)

My thought are with you, you are in the best hands with Dr Charles Teo, and it has taken great courage to write of your situation here on this site. I hope it gives you some comfort to know that all on this site will be wishing you all the best during your time ahead. James im so sorry to hear that brother, youve left me speachless, this is the blog of the year right here, mate i cant imagine what you must be going through, every bit of blessings and power to you jimmy, im backing you right in here mate, you can do it jim.

You are in angels hands with Teo, the mans a freak and a truely great man, you couldnt be in better hands in the whole world.

This blog has already achieved more than you know, youve just put a few things in perspective atm on a personal level for me, this blogs maybe the most touching ive ever read here, If theres anything i can do for you im a PM away.

Agree with the other comment s Dr Charles Teo is a great man and you are getting the best help which is great. This would have taken a lot of courage to write James and i am sure everyone who reads will be praying for you and have the upmost respect.

Good luck James I too may have a medical problem ( lung cancer) most was cut out I'll know more in a few weeks
