First of all not a negative blog im a long time member and big fan of the website, i think all the eels fans need to stick together at times like this and i think if every player who signed comes i think we can rattle the comp next year, i have just been meaning to write this for a while and when i read the quote about hayne being annoyed by some eels fans which i will assume is from this site, i decided to write it. I've been on this site since i was 13-14, im 22 tomorrow, i started when there were lucky to be 50 members on the old basic 1eyedeel, too me it was much better back then, it wasn't mainstream like it is now, and hats off to phil, this website is very popular and well known amongst our club and other clubs but unfortunately i think this has contributed to our downfall since the new site and when it got so popular in about 2010. The problem is our fans are so passionate that they expect results straight away and if we lose we rubbish players, the coach, CEO's ect, remember when Paul Osborne used to come on this site to blog? The rubbish that was said about paul was ridiculous and he was well aware of it, alot of players are aware of the heat they cop from this website too, whether they admit it or not, they check to see what is written about them, has this website contributed to the fact that we have been through 7 coaches in 7 years, several CEO's in 4 years, constant change of board? Do players not want to come here because they know that if we lose our fans attack them through the internet? I dunno but im just curious to see what everyone else thinks, would parramatta eels be better off without this website?
ps no disrespect to phil

I tend to agree, i love this site and couldn't imagine going to another, but geez there is some negative trolls on here.
Geez.... I really can't believe the author would pin point this site without considering the "official" Eels Facebook site or Twitter. Those two official sites have users and followers that publish comments that make this site look like the Mother Teresa of supporter forums. The fact is if you fill a room at random with 100 people chances are you are going to have 90 people that are good honest people, 7 that are dubious and 3 that are complete and utter dickheads. There isn't too much we can do about that its just the laws of statistics and averages at play. I might also add that Twitter now gives fans and almost direct line of contact with their sporting stars. The bulk of Jarryds negative comments would have arrived straight to his phone via twitter.
And while you are blaming this site for the clubs problems I suggest you check out some of the other fan forums on the net. The Kennel just the other day had members calling for the heads of Des Hasler and Tony Williams, I wonder if Des is now reconsidering his coaching tenure now. Somehow I doubt it.
What he said
Well summed up.
Its called society.....u get all sorts.
I hope they do all read this and come here to canvass the broad spectrum of opinions.
When the majority say the same thing, maybe just maybe they have a point.
Is your twitter not working?
The world would be better off without dopey people like sinners
There's also: Twitter, facebook, LU and if it wasn't this site there'd be another that would have the same members on it and the same remarks would still be made. I don't think this site can be held responsible as I don't think any site should be held responsible. I know that earlier this year there was a piece written on the popular all-round page which was saying why Hayne wasn't the player he was back in '09 and the Eels should let him go. This article was printed off and handed to Hayne who then put it up in his locker so he could see it every day.
If the players want to show the fans that they are worth it then they should take inspiration from what is written on the internet and try harder to prove their haters wrong.
Hayne would have been refering to Twitter, he is on it, most players are.
Players are instructed in just about every club to stay away from footy forums, thats a fact.
Politically this site might have some pull, but go to any footy forum and its the same stuff thats on here, go check out the Kennel, sea eagles forum, broncos, the burrow, the roosters, they are all the same as what goes on here.
Forums are for venting, supporting, discussing etc, we have been going crap for years, what do you expect them to find here, love and kisses?
These guys are getting paid huge wages, if they cant look past fans critisism on a forum well they need to leave the game.
Fans have a right to show what ever emotions they like, without us there would be no team.
So has this place got anything to do with the eels downfall? NO that is totally ridiculous, we are the long suffering fans that stand by the club through thick and thin, and we deserve a voice and a place to come like this.
A few new juicy rumours.
I do think the rumour mills on sites like this could annoy players though.
