It's official - the new striped jersey is one the worst selling sydney jerseys in the heart of Parramatta - Peter Wynn's Score.

Peter Wynn laughed about the striped kit when asked by Vossy on the Fan on how they were selling, and shook his head saying "there were no records set"

The dragons, Souths, Wests as well as other Sydney team jerseys, outstripped Parramatta in jersey sales in Parramatta, which is a disgraceful outcome for a new jersey release.

It just goes to show how much Bernie Gurr is out of touch with the Eels fan base, and must have consulted the local lawn bowls club on the hideous design.

Well done Bernie - the dope has already retired the yellow away strip, and to think his plan was to have these disgusting looking jerseys with white shorts as our permanent long term strip lol.

It's going to be a real shame running onto our new stadium looking like a team dressed in Lowes outfits.

Bernie must move heaven and earth to destroy the last of the stripes & revert back to a variation of our 2017 top 4 predominantly blue strip.

  • My daughter got me the heritage jersey (1986 replica) for fathers day, she almost got me the hideous striped jersey but didn't like the look of it. Thank god she has taste or she would have been taking it back lol.

  • The club won 11 of it's wooden spoons when they wore that jersey design. Soon as they changed it the fortunes changed. I'm a firm believer that the 1986 design should be our permanent shirt design. When I think of Parramatta and what they wear I think of that before anything else.

Gurr thought he was doing the right thing but I doubt he did any research beforehand.
    • Is that a fact, steel be with you? That 11 wooden spoons were won with that Jersey type design.

      • Yes it is.  Well actually make that 12 considering we come last this year.  The club wore that blue and gold stripes design with white shorts up until the early 70's.

    • Because the jerseys were the reason we won all those spoons

      • So it’s too far fetched to think a jersey is bad luck , yet not too far fetched to think people walked on water and rose from the dead, Brettles  ?

At least the jersey theory has some stats to back it up .

        • Yes it is far fetched Wiz, and beyond stupid to even think it's a valid reason.

          • Brett, has to be a repeat of the 7 jersey.

I would actually love to know how many of those jersey's that were also produced a few years back and sold very well at that time.  My view is that many people get jack of spending the amount of money wanted for jersey's every year when some have minimal change, except sponsors name on it.

Watching games this year there are a fair smattering of different jersey designs noticed in the stands.

        • Ha.... who edited my comment ? Do you still have editing abilities Brett ?

Im gunna let you off with this discussion Brett ,  but as my parting query , would you say it was Gods will for us to win those spoons ?  That’d be heaps more credible than a cursed jersey ;)

          • God did it.  It is a miracle!
