Not to put a dampener on todayâs game because it was a great effort, but it was also one of the few times this season where our goal kicking didnât lead to the game being much closer than it needed to be.
Our goal-kicking woes are something that need to be addressed next year.
As a club, we have kicked at just 67.4% this season. In a tight competition, that can absolutely be the difference between winning and losing. The Easter Monday game against the Tigers is a perfect example where goal kicking cost us, and even some of our wins against the Cowboys would have been a lot more comfortable with better conversion rates.
Mitchâs career goal-kicking percentage is higher than what he has produced this year, so there could be a number of factors at play â injuries, the pressure of being captain, or simply a poor year with the boot. Whatever the reason, itâs an area worth looking at.
And itâs not just about Mitch.
As of today, Parramatta have used SIX different goal kickers in 2026.

Thatâs 29 missed conversions across the season.
Obviously, not every missed kick directly costs you two points â field position and game circumstances matter â but those missed points can absolutely be the difference when youâre fighting to make the top eight.
We have plenty of areas that need improvement before next year, and goal kicking certainly isnât the only one.
But when youâre trying to compete at the top end of the NRL, 67.4% simply isnât good enough, and I think itâs an area the club needs to seriously consider addressing in the off-season.

I do agree that our goal kicking needs to be better. Moses was better before his toe injury circa 2024. It's why I wouldn't mind a Burton signing. But we need to improve there.Â
Toe injury must or the calf the confidence just isnt there.Â
As a fan I'm not confident we will go up in 6sÂ
Defence is still the biggest area of improvement but leaving points on the field never helps.

The club has and continues to address it. Matt Burke is the club's kicking and goal kicking consultant. He's at training regularly working with the halves and goal kickers.
Pezet, Russel and (most likely) Joash won't be in the team next year, so put a line through them.
Moses retiring from being the primary kicker is probably for the best because he's so injury prone.
Maybe TDS becomes our primary kicker? Small sample size. Glad to hear that the club is working on it!
Only issue with going with Da Silva is he doesn't normally play full 80. When he is off, who takes it then? Cant have most weeks 2 kickers if Da Silva is off the field.

Hopefully we turn a corner with it. Tallyn strikes it well but in a small sample size haven't seen him hit a sideline one yet.Â
Lincoln Fletcher hits them well hes still a bit away if at all.Â
Outside of those i don't know who else ryley smith has kicked a bit but he's not likely to be in 1st grade.Â
Going up by 6 instead of 4 most times makes a big difference we lost games we could have won this year if we kicked well no one gets every kick but we missed some sitters this yearÂ
