Dragon Hunting

Now that the Dragons have confirmed they're facing salary cap pressure with the release of Morris, the carcass at kogarah is well and truly ripe for the picking. In order of preference here's who I'd have on my shopping list and why :1. Merrin -  Hard running lock that plays like a third prop, can get an offload away and plays 80 minutes. We really need to move on from the ball playing lock strategy and get another meter eater out onto the field. He's been one of the top 5 most consistent locks in the last 5 years. He'll provide 1000x more benefit than Paulo at only twice the price.2. Nightingale - Veteran winger, class finisher, reliable, intelligent, safe under the high ball and would make a great mentor for our young back line. I've noticed BA hasn't recruited any wingers although I understand there's a few coming through. However, it's almost a lottery with these youngsters and there are no guarantees but one.....  Nightingale will catch the high ball.3. Dugan - X-factor. Quite possibly the guy who could fix our centre/fullback situation. Would be asking for big money considering he re-signed recently and I don't really like the idea of tying the cap up in one player since we've only just solved our cap drama. All said, I wouldn't really want him at Parra but it's hard to deny his talent.Notable exceptions: Tyson Frizell and Jack De Belin. What are your thought? Who's on your shopping list?

    • I don't think 28 is too old at all. Take look at Lote for example
    • Captain, given our juniors I mentioned that he would make a great mentor especially considering of those you named only three are specialist wingers with two of them having spent the year in reserve grade.

What he added to the rabbits in the final series is worth the year of fumbles and is the kind of old head our club really needs.
    • I see where you're coming from but I'm not sold on relying on juniors that are yet to lace on a boot in FG.
  • Old fumbles. Up until the finals season Lote had been pretty average.

  • Not even Merrin?
  • Yep Been saying it for a while, 'Go after Merrin'!
  • Especially not Merrin.

  • Merrin wants 800k a season.

    • Unload Floppa and we get Merrin!
  • surfer bogan? like yeah dude!!
