Parramatta Eels Rugby League Club has re-signed outstanding young forward Daniel Alvaro on a one year extension that will see him in the Blue and Gold until the end of the 2019 season.
The contract extension is the third in as many days for the Eels, with the Club continuing to lock in key players ahead of returning home to the new Western Sydney Stadium in 2019.
Parramatta Eels Head Coach Brad Arthur said, “Daniel has an outstanding work ethic, he’s an impressive young footballer on and off the field, and I’m confident he will continue his development over the next couple of seasons.”
Speaking about his re-signing, Daniel said he was delighted to continue his career at Parramatta, “I’m really happy to be part of the Eels family. We’re a tight bunch and we’re excited about the direction we’re heading in.”
Daniel made his NRL debut in 2015 against Penrith Panthers, his representative debut last year playing in the Country Origin side, and was selected to represent Italy in the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.
Off the field, Daniel was awarded his second University Blue by UTS in 2017 to recognise the level of excellence he has achieved in both his sporting endeavors and his undergraduate studies with his Business and Construction Management degree.

Am surprised it was not for longer.
I would gave him a 3 year deal but I'm glad he stay for now
1 year, excellent, keeps him hungry whilst leaving our options open.
Its interesting that its only for one year, as I thought he should have been locked up longer. Still young, turning 25 in May he has a lot of improvement in him as well.
With his signature that leaves 15 off contract. I would think that Scott, and Gower will retire, think the battle of the 9's may determine which one gets another extension there. Matangi and Vave likely to contest an extension, as I doubt if both will be resigned.
I think this is BA's way of saying if you want a bigger contract, show me your potential. Good for him and good for the club.

Now Dan Alvaro
Things are looking good
I would say that a 1 year contract means that the club doesnt have full faith in him fulfilling his potential
Dunno, the one year deal has been common for most of the signings. It could also be a sign that he wants to know who the coach is going to be past 2019.
