Ive been blindsided by a nasty flu the past few days and have been listening to a few podcasts and the like to pass the time. Thought this was an Interesting interview with Mark Bouris and Peter Vlandys. https://youtu.be/S1ppUjZl-9s Listening to how he's turned the game around since Covid you can't argue Vlandys is a good businessman. Two things stood out for me in this interview. Vlandys number 1 goal is keep making more money and that means 22 teams in the comp.
Take a look at other comps around the world. The bigger the comp, the longer the wait is to win a comp. If everything was even, we'd be winning a comp every 22 years. Realistically, it's going to be a lot harder than that. We've been waiting 40 years as it is. If you look at big comps like the NBA and NFL, they have teams who've been waiting 70 years.
He's now set himself up like a little Putin, where he's both CEO and chairman of the commission. Not sure he swung this without a peep from the media, it's like getting to mark your own homework. It'll be an interesting few years watching how the game unfolds with the all conquering Vlandys running the show unchecked.
