You come from dust and to dust you will return. That's why you shouldn't dust. It could be someone you know.

When one door closes and another door opens, you're probably in prison.

If you answer your phone with "Hello. You're on the air.", most telemarketers will quickly hang up.

Sometimes, someone unexpected comes into your life from nowhere. It makes your heart race and changes you forever.  We call these people cops.

Maybe the worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of Charades.

Never miss a good chance to shut up.

And finally - Can we all agree that in 2015 not a single person got the answer correct to the question, "Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?"

    • Yes Slugg I am getting to the stage where I think about that stuff more often these days.. That's an okay thing to do for a short while and then try and move on somehow. I like watching or reading biographies of other people to see how they interpreted things that happened through their lives.I always felt some comfort in that.

            • honestly,. I am amazed at how you and PT remember these things. I used to love watching a lot of B/W movies. They really show a huge cultural shift in how our realities have changed over the years. They were hard years in a lot of material ways but very fruitful with belonging to a community of sorts. You knew a lot more people more intimately in those days.

                • I think we are bombarded with so much coming from everywhere. No much time to use our own imagination--its all laid out for you..Somebody elses reality thrown out at you and your own imagination is not exercised anymore. Maybe we lose part of our own identity in that type of process..Reading books was something that exercised your imagination and I think much better in shaping you as a person. Not seeing the nipples probably was more arousing for a male than having it thrust down your throat

                  • Actually thrust down one’s throat would probably do it more so for me Tad!

                • Just watched that clip Slugg. Mate, I look at old paintings a lot and had the same thought process in watching that clip. The realization that all those people are now all long gone. Depressing I know. We sometimes don,t like thinking about that. But it is a reality and we should be more open about those things to get a proper sense of what a full life means. I think thats why people look for things like spirituality and religion to help keep a more positive view of life..I was speaking to a dear friend who is in her 80,s today. She is a highly intelligent person who lost her partner 2 years ago. We had a lovely conversation about how she talks to her deceased partner during the day and feels his presence around her all the time.I lost my parent's ages ago and my sister a few years ago and their presence is around me a lot..I think this lady would be completely lost without that the positiveness of her partner's presence around her every day Love talking to her about this stuff as it keeps those relationships alive..

"Great question, Pou. Often it's really obvious. Compare these claims. I saw a dog at the park (ordinary claim). I saw an alien riding a dragon at the park (extraordinary claim). "

"Who gets to decide what is and isn't an extraordinary claim? I'm sure Sagan and the people who quote him have a convenient answer to that one."

"LB, the film and TV industry itself created this kind of closed cycle story telling. A reluctance to end without tying everything off neatly. A reluctance to end with a question. So I don't mind Disclosure Day bucking that trend.

Disclosure Day

What would you think if definitive proof of alien life emerged? Would it consign all religious thought to, as Mark Twain once predicted, the fate of a stuffed ornament in museums? How would suggestive confirmation of the principles of uniformity and…
