Ben Rogers axed another one gone

Hearing from my good friend Avenger from League unlimited, who always has the good goss,  that the great Ben Rogers was let go last week.   One half of the dynamic duo in Rodgers + O'neill,  and the three stooges including Sarantinos.

Goodbye Ben .  He's finished

Mon -  i can't see him being here much longer.  He's the last of the Monicans.

                    • Pop's said nothing of the sort...but hey! don't let the facts spoil your story Chiefy, actually the facts spoil just about all of your stories Chiefy.....funny about that!

                    • Have a nice day pops. Take Marcia out for a drink and a nice dinner   .   Not Oporto chicken

                • So you are telling me that Ryles has a S&C he doesn't want? I highly doubt MON or Sarantinos, now Rush, would hire someone Ryles does not want. Ryles would know more on who is better suited to the role based on philosphies and connections.

Same with his assistants. Mark Russell would had to of been signed off by MON and Sarantinos when he agreed to join, but it is Ryles' call who it is. MON and Rush can say no, then Ryles can look for someone else but it is him who gets the say on if it is the person he suggests or not.

So though GM and CEO would need to sign off on it, Ryles technically would get final say as he only agrees to S&C's he wants. If CEO and/or GM suggested Jay and Ryles didn't want him, then i doubt they hire him.

Added to that, it seems Matty Jay is still in a job. With Moa moving on and plenty of movement elsewhere, wouldn't he move on if Ryles didn't want him?

                  • Everyone reports to the ceo.  The ceo's neck is on the line if the club doesn't perform.  Nothing gets approved without a rubber stamp from Rush,   and Previously Jim

                    • Right, so if Ryles goes to Jim and says "I want Nathan Brown as my assistant" lays out the reasons. Jim agrees with the head coach and he is hired. If it doesn't work, the CEO is to blame for hiring Brown when Ryles was the one who technically hired him?

When all the assistants and Blair Mills were hired, Sarantinos said Ryles assembled them. So yes, the CEO signs off on it. But Ryles is responsible for who he wants.

In that case, MON and BA aren't responsible for anything bad that happens at the club as all the calls were agreed on by Sarantinos.

        • Gucci, you'll need to pick someone else. A job posting for the Athletic Performance Coach (Strength & Power) went up 11 days ago. Hopefully they can get someone with a track record of success, not wooden spooner dregs

          • Not sure if that is to replace Matty Jay or someone alongside Matty Jay.

I believe Matty Jay is head of performance.

            • Looks like its alongside

The Athletic Performance Coach (Strength & Power) will lead the development and delivery of the Parramatta Eels NRL squad’s strength and power program, optimising physical performance in support of the Club’s Game Model and broader high-performance strategy.

Reporting to the High Performance Manager, the role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the strength and power coaching framework, programming and standards across the High Performance Unit (HPU).

              • Yeah so Matty Jay still is at Parra

  • Coldest, most casualty delivered line in the show? : r/TheSimpsons
