Would you take Blaize back?!?

https://au.news.yahoo.com/panthers-in-telling-backflip-on-blaize-talagi-after-shock-return-to-parramatta-eels-floated-005647610.html

Panthers may be rethinking their plans for Talagi after shifting him to centre in NSW Cup last weekend. As you know he's been left out of Penrith’s squad for Round 1, with Jack Cole named at 6 instead.

He played five-eighth in NSW Cup’s opening round but was moved to centre in the second game, mainly due to defensive concerns as per Cleary @ 6.

Chammas suggested whether Parra would take him back to replace DB and at the very least ask the question for a possible return.

  • If he wanted to come back at a price of his current value then sure. If he wants to be paid on potential and a guarantee at the No 6 NRL jersey then no. He's not cutting it at 6 for Penrith. I know that they've told him "let's make you an NRL player first and we'll worry about positions later."  He's got some work to do still.

    • What's his current value based on - a NSW cup player or on his potential?

      • NSW Cup player

  •  Do these commentators realise that Talagi is a huge risk in any position he plays, quite simply he is a turnstyle.

One of the few things we have won is the 500k we would have spent retaining him. He would be in our Reserve Grade side if he was still at Parra as well.....regardless of Dyllan Brown leaving and also his current form, Blaize is still not capable of FG with any team in the comp.

Have these blokes that talk about him, ever watched anything but his highlights reel!

    • Exactly Poppa, if he did an ancestry test it would come out he is 36.50 % turnstyle.

  • I'd be more hoping on a backflip from brown

    • i'm one of (or have been) Dyllan's biggest fans, but if he back flipped on his Knights deal, then we could only pay him 350k with KPI's ...... his deal with Newcastle could go down in hstory as the worst deal ever offered by a NRL club.

  • I think we'd have the same problem of where to put him. As many others agree, he's not ready for full time NRL, and he only got so many games last year because we really had little choice. I also wonder if Penrith are playing him at centre in an affort to work on his defence?

I find it fascinating that other clubs see much value in our juniors, but we tend not to see that value as they do. I wonder why that is?

  • He's got defence issues needs to learn to catch

    He's evasive that's it

    No

  • Hell no.

Turnstile Talagi is Penref's problem now and we have enough problems as it is.
