Whats your predictions lads?

YES is my answer, i think we can and will beat the storm this week, BUT i concede if we beat them this week its not going to be easy beating them again/twice in a row if we both happen to make the GF, not many teams get two wins over the storm within a short space, so maybe a loss wont be the end of the world but i think we can out enthuse them, bash em, force errors and get them panicking away from their natural game, i think weve got the team that can score points and beat them.

EELS BY 7 in a huge ambush

  • Think we'll put on a real good showing, stick with them for 65-70 and maybe fall away a bit at the end due to fatigue from a huge effort. Thinking there'll be a few points scored, Storm winning 28-16 or so. A couple of tries in it but the score won't reflect the closeness. One for us to be proud of (I hope) for all the fans making the trip.
    • I think the boys are going to give us a performance to be proud of win or lose.

Obviously they are heavy favourites and rightly so, and going by the stats and form throughout the season the storm should win, they are at home and thats a big advantage for them too but i seriously think we might get em.

  • We need to play like we did the first time we beat the Broncos, I don't think we have it in us this round. Storm to strong in Melbourne.
  • Great blog Snake, a pretty powerful statement to tip us by 7 points and I don't doubt that it is on the cards even in the manner that you've prophesied is certainly our biggest chance of creating the victory.

But I also believe there is a lot of substance in your opening statement that it would be difficult to beat them again/twice if we both make the GF.

Therefore I will predict and not be too disappointed if we lose a close game this week where nearly all commentators are crying after the game "Parra were shafted or at the very least unlucky to have lost today"! That would relieve us of having to rewrite history by turning a habit of losing after a bye into ancient history! The boys would be up for the home semi the following week and beyond. Then maybe look out Melbourne Storm if you have to play us again in the GF.

  • I reckon we can do it.
No one gives us a hope in hell.
It's perfectly set up for a massive upset. Eels by 10 :)

  • Maybe if does a VLog whilst playing he may show up
  • I would feel more confident if we were full strength. With some players playing out of position we have some defensive holes that could get hammered.
  • I think we can win. Man for man on paper we probably have a better side than them. If we bash the shite out of them, give the ball a bit of movement without dropping it too much, and of course get some half decent refereeing decisions, I'm sure we can cause an upset. But, if we get into the grind with them i cant see us coming out on top. I think the key to beating melbourne is staying with them til halftime on the scoreboard. If we are within a try or leading we can win. They like to blow teams away early, so the first 20-30 minutes of this game we mustn't be over awed and keep our cool. All the pressure is on them. Bring it biatches!

    • Sorry mate, disagree - man for man, on paper we are no where near them in key positions.

Trying to be objective as possible:

      1. Slater vs Will Smith = Slater better (comfortably)
      7. Cronk vs Moses = Cronk
      6. Munster vs Norman = Munster
      9. Smith vs King = Smith
      8. Bromwich vs Alvaro = Bromwich
      10. McClean vs Mannah = McClean
      12. Harris vs Moeroa = Harris
      5. Addo Carr vs Auva'a = Addo Carr

I concede that Brown, Jennings, Semi, Mau and most of our bench are better than the storm players comparatively. But starting props and spine? Clearly outmatched.

To win we need to rely on aggression, heart and an 80 minute war.

  • I have a gut feeling we win n this in et i think we be winning at half time then storm score couple of trys then late in the game we score tire the game up n win in et
