There is pros and cons with this. Hoffman is a better leaper and jumper with the high/cross ball, but Auva'a is a better power runner and is an extra forward in attack. Both are on par with each other in pace.
BA will stick by Auva'a for the next game but if he struggles again in a big way with the cross kick Hoffman may come in. French may also return to the team on the wing.
yes when the centre comes up and in so does the winger, however with this style of defence we need a winger quick off the mark who can change direction and close the gap quickly. Auvua doesn't have the agility to do so. Jennings (opposition) first try where he had no right to make it whilst being so close to the try line emphasised auvuas inability. Hoff has more pace and although he might make bad reads here and there like auvua, at least hoff has the agility to attempt to rectify misreads.
