  • was holding out for cronk? no idea but its strange
  • If people at parra had any sense at all they should chase Dane Neilson. Very good talent and very skillful but with Inglis leaving melbourne I doubt melboune will let him go.
  • Maybe we learnt from last year.
Buying big names doesn't guarantee anything.
  • They made a big play for Cronk and now it looks like we will miss out so expect a panic buying spree now of an old halfback probably an old hooker, maybe an outside back rumoured to be Tuaki and possibly a back rower.
If they sign Riddel he can start at hooker than move to back row so could kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
  • because management f........ up badly
and us fans will have to suffer through another long season cause of it
  • This is my guess. We were miles over our salary cap for 2010 (hence why we offloaded Inu, Mateo etc) and, sadly, with highly paid guys like Hayne, Tahu, Hindmarsh, Poore etc we simply don't have any cash left. I think Osbourne knew we were in trouble and wants squeaky clean books for 2011.
  • Well IMO the reason we have not bought is simple the talent we require to ensure we are going to move forward is very thin on the ground the club has chased and chased and chased and chased Cronk to no avail we have probably shed our best ball playing forward since Solomona to make room on the cap to make it more appealing and still cant entice him away!!!

So what are we left with we are left with 1 real play maker in the side in Hayne and as stated have lost IMO the best ball playing forward the club has had for ages!!

    And we have gained nothing!!!!!!!!!!
  • Agreed. It's purely been about chasing Cronk. Its been well documented our offer was up around the half a million dollar mark - we clearly have money and you don't have to be a mathematician to work it out. Osborne has publicly said we've got money.
  • possibly because we have already signed 1 or 2 players
  • Stiffler Iam not going into Statistics to confirm my view on Mateo its a personal opinion Mateo was our best attacking player 2 and a bit years back way before Hayne pulled his finger out!!!

Listen I know alot of people cant stand Mateo with the loose carries and impossible passes he tries to get away but facts are you have to take the good with the bad and thats Mateo you take him as he is!!!

Mateos form over the last year and half has changed considerably for the worse why? to me this is an easy answer cause the bloke is no longer playing his natural game!!! I have no doubt DA has "doctored his game" and spoken to him about the loose carries and impossible offloads that sometimes paid off sometimes not but the bloke backed himself he had flair and an awesome offload now he is a shadow of the former player he was!!

I would rather watch a player Like Mateo chance his offloads and create second phase play than watch one out bash and barge crap!!!!

"When you look at it that way, 1.2 is a lot. I reckon he has more in him than what he's showing at the tigers. Under Ryles he'd be a different/better player in my opinion.

Even the defensive urgency isn't there for him anymore."
