Why are we playing the tiger at ANZ

Why are we playing them there for when we should be playing at pirtek after all that is our home ground where we win about 90% of our games so why are we taking a home game away from home where we lose about 90% of our games.

Yes we will get around 23 000 people there to watch us lose

                               OR

we play at Pirtek get around 17000 people there to watch us win

will it could be just be me but I take the 17000 and a win everyday of the year

Where would you take our home game if you where our boss

  • Last year they got about 50,000 at this match.

It's on easter monday and it's in the day time. You get free transport as part of your ticket.

I normally don't like going to ANZ but I'm a fan of this fixture.

  • AGREED - ANZ Stadium blows.

The more games we move to Homebush, the less likely we are to get funding to upgrade Parramatta Stadium.

  • So Both Wizards and osirden you both take a lost

  • Here is a novel idea - don't give a Rat's about where we play - PLAY TO WIN regardless of the venue.

    • I love that movie Col.
  • We still have a contract with ANZ Stadium and have obligations to play at least 2 matches there.

What I'd like to know is, will the extra income from these two matches, outweigh the extra income we would receive through merchandise, memberships and finals gate takings if we made the 8??

We lost a close game in the corresponding Tiger's game 12 months ago, and as it turned out, a win would have secured a finals birth.

    Is it all worth it?

Well, if it means we can afford better coaches, training facilities ect., to attract players such as Kieran Foran, maybe it is worth it.
  • Yeh, as much as I hate Homebush, this fixture is justified if 50k turn up like they did last year - was an amazing atmosphere. For me, this is the only justification for a Homebush clash - if it's not 30k+ ANZ is not worth the home ground advantage loss.

    • And 2 points cost us to make the finals ,,, who cares about the money we need to play finals and surely bring us more money and more memberships
  • I understand that both clubs and the NRL are trying to turn this game into a special annual fixture similar to the Anzac day game between Roosters and St George.
  • I see the Eels are doing a special members $30 family ticket to this game. Bravo Parra! Great idea. I reckon we'll get 50k again given both sides playing good footy. Let's hope the Tigers hoodoo of recent years can be broken
