Many people on this site have suggested that with the reduction of the interchange that large players, those over 110kg, will be a thing of the past. I don't hold that view.
I think large forwards will always be very important to a team's go forward, as important as when there was no interchanges to when there was unlimited interchanges. Even Wayne Bennett, regarded as the best coach, obviously thinks so. He has been signing larger forwards, usually young guys, since he has been back at the Broncos. Just recently he signed Raiders junior Pangai, a 120kg back rower, for 2017.
On another tack this is the second raid Broncos has had on Raiders, initially enticing Milford to break his contract at about the same time as they pinched Barba from Dogs, also enticing him to break his contract. I really think NRL should fine clubs a hefty amount that do this with the amount coming off their cap.

Agreed regarding big forwards. The prop forward rotation won't change much with the reduced interchange. They will still play similar minutes and get subbed at similar times. The main difference will be that edge backrowers will be forced to play 80min, which most are capable of.
Life lesson number 1 Mr Maggi is breathe come do it with me
Rather than size it's fitness but heavy players with big tickers (JWH) will always be in demand.
That said, I'm happy with our forwards.
