Who do you prefer?

Here are the highlights of two new Fullback recruits; Isaiah Iongi and Joash Papali'i.

Both have experience in NSW Cup, but are different styles of Fullback but not by much. Both are decent with ball in hand, Papali'i might be the better ball player slightly. Iongi looks to be the better runner and has a better workrate out the back. Papali'i had 15 try assists with 7 line-breaks on the year, while Iongi had only 9 try assists but 11 line-breaks on the year.

As far as it is now, Iongi obviously has the inside running with being signed first and seems for a year longer. Papali'i will then be the 14 that Ryles invisions to have. But at the same time, i would still have a competition for the Fullback spot between the two. I would be very surprised if Ryles does not say to both the Fullback spot is wide open, show me who should get it, the other might get 14 spot.

But have your own opinion on who you would select.

  • Iongi is fg ready and very safe, very talented. Papallii is abit more rocks and diamonds but could be anything. I'd say papallii wont even be a fb in the future. So iongi it is

    • True, Papali'i even featured at Wing at times. Papali'i oddly enough looks like a 14.

  • Joash can play 6. If Dylan goes down he'll be straight in.  Much better than Asi.

    Has Joash actually signed?

  • Are u lurking at LU? :)

  • If we have both , can't see us holding onto Gutho for 2025

  • Iongi any day for FB.

  • Have we even signed Joash? Lol

    • Done.

      • Well good I'm happy. We still need a 9. Providing we sign one, Joash could be 14. Hopefully he can play 1-5 and backline.

"Yea I like Samrani as a 17 rather than a starting backrower. Tuilagi will probably be selected this week with Guymer back on the bench or cup. Latu needs a couple more games in Cup before being a chance of NRL selection I would think."

"Yep thats the thing. I dont think anyone expected some players to be so much on the outer and JR blood so many younger players. Its why we are suffering this short term pain. Hopefully its better for the long run."
