I was thinking of this last few days with people writing in and saying Inu is out of form, KK, MK, Fui and the list goes on. But a big problem at the moment is that there is no one to replace them with.
Wenty arent going that great and the 20's are running last, so who do you bring up and replace out of form players?
A lot of names have been and are being tossed around to step up, but really will they be able to step up from Wenty or 20's???
The worst thing that the NRL has done in the last few years is to kill off the reserve grade or Premier league. Parramatta were Club Champions for so many years because of lower grade teams were performing, and yes they werent even being brought up at the time. But at least these players were there.
Once a player goes past 20yr old, and dont get signed into the top squad, these players go overseas or play park footy which is a few steps backwards for up and comers. I was talking to a friend of mine who has a few mates in a top grade squad, but have to play park footy on the weekends. He said that these players feel a little let down after training with the big boys, wearing the club colours, then on the weekend put on another teams colours and dont feel like they are actually part of an NRL side.
There is a massive divide between NRL to 20's to park footy. This really needs to be addressed by the NRL or there wont be any capable players being brought up into first grade.
The NSW Cup isnt that good compared to QLD Cup teams. So guess you can see why QLD are the dominante league state. Maybe these two comps need to brought together to make a more better suited first grader who can step up with no real problems.
