What young Eels will graduate to NRL next year?

I haven't watched much under 20's but I'm interested to find out what Under 20's may break through to NRL next year

Obviously there is Tepai.

People have said that ZDC is ready.

John Folau?

Fabian Goodall?

Do we have any other guys who actually may cement a spot in NRL next year.

  • They should all be playing for Wenty first
  • Out of those donly consider goodall, folau is no where near first grade quality and ZDC still needs some developing IMO

  • Goodall definitely and Folau.
Livi Li or Lavaka could come into calculations for a wing spot.
  • Well, I would have said Lavaka or Goodall but we've now got ridiculous levels of competition on the wing.

  • Folau has already had a taste at the next step, as has Goodall - that is, the NSW Cup.
Both had decent games mixed with not so decent games, but that is a part of the learning and developing process for them.

John Folau, Fabian Goodall & Halaufau Lavaka are definitely the three to keep an eye out for.
If we have a few injuries - despite our huge centre/wing depth - then they may get a crack.

  • Lavaka's a good kid.
Have chatted with him in the past and quite recently and he was pleased with his overall season. He definitely feels ready to take that next step & wants to make the most of the opportunities that come his way.

  • The three that will be on the cards are: Fabian Goodall, John Folau, and Halauafu Lavaka. I would personally like to see Josh Aloiai get a spot on the bench later on in the year. Good, stocky player. He's a bit like Tepai Moeroa but probably not as strong running game, he can play in the middle and out wide with good effectiveness at both. A few times this year he scored tries by just not stopping his legs pumping, breaking through 2-3 defenders to do so.

  • He can find the tryline alright. 20+ tries this season and a lot of them involved beating defenders. He's a big kid and has really improved in the last 12-18 months at the club.

He's humble and that is what helps the attitude side of things. Knows what he wants and what he wants to achieve.

  • Dont for get Matterson

    • He certainly won't start at lock, such is our depth.
And even to play in the halves, that's no guarantee.

He might feature at some stage, but the chance that he plays is less likely than the likes of Goodall, Folau or Lavaka.

"Oops somehow deleted Pezet with 2 points. For obvious reasons. With try assist, try and line break assists. "

"The defensive issue is in the halves, Pezet was a turnstyle in that period and our defence misshapen, it was only after Haas went off that we regained any rythm.....Moses was also trying to be everywhere and ended up nowhere, clutching air a lot.…"

"JDB had the highest tackle efficiency of any Eels player at 95%. That's basically his job. Make the tackles in the middle in the opening 20 minutes."

"Keep him where he is, let him grow into the role, he will get his chance, why lose the momentum he brings, same as Walker."
