What would the members here do if the Eels were sold tomorrow? What if the new buyers gave us Brian Smith as footy manager and we got Flanagan as a coach. But in return we lost half of our home matches to foreign city or interstate city? What are the feelings boys and girls?

all opinions welcome...…...just put it out there is see everyone opinion.
If they remained as Parra and membership costs were same or less then nothing would change for me. If memberships rose beyond a reasonable cost then I'd change to be a non-member fan.
If they changed the identity to the Western Nomads (or whatever) then I'd be lost to RL and focus on something else.
I couldn't give a toss about Brian Smith or Shane Flanangen. They are either part of the club or not, just like players.
You'd like to think that any sale of the Eels would be conditional on them remaining as the Parramatta Eels, retaining the blue & gold colours and playing all home games at the new stadium.
I seriously doubt any sale would occur otherwise
And then there is the Leagues Club to consider. They are really only there to support the NRL club. Is this a scenario that would theoretically see the LC with no choice but to sell the NRL side? There would have to be a series of monumental stuff us to see that happen (yes bigger than the monumental stuff ups that have happened over the past years).
Well, privatisation doesn't mean that the LC would have to divest itself completely of the FC. I believe Manly LC still owns 13% of the Sea Eagles and I think Souths LC still owns 25% of the Rabbitohs. The LC could retain minority ownership with private investors coming to provide working capital, which is a scenario I could see happening in trying to build the HPC. I could see a private investor coming in and buying say 70% of the Eels in exchange for building the HPC. The LC would retain 30% and the 2 seats on the board that it now has.
I see what you are getting at Brett. If a private investor sees a profit however, I'm sure PLC does too. They are not short of a dollar. For the HPC to work, it really needs to be self sustaining somehow, bringing in other organisations who pay for the services. The problem at the moment is finding space to build it.
Yeah, I was just hypothesising
It won't happen. It's about to be part of the constitution that the League's Club owns the Eels, can't be sold, and must continue to provide support.
Constitutions can be changed
