Fox Sports has done a fictional piece on what player each NRL club would have to release if they wanted a fair trade for Zac Lomax.
It's probably a good assessment of our current player roster than it is anything else.
The Storm are probably the favourites to land Lomax if the Eels are willing to do a deal in time, but foxsports.com.au have taken a look at what every NRL club could offer the Eels in a realistic player swap where it would be a win-win for all sides involved
BRONCOS - DEINE MARINER

DOLPHINS - JAKE AVERILLO
DRAGONS - JAYDN SU’A

Brimson I don't mind actually. He's a risk but could be a nice piece at 6 in 2027.
To'a? Foketi? Hubner!!????
I know some are laughable.
A good young player that will add value to our football program over time is ok, I reckon.
Someone like Mariner or T'oa and another decent youngster in an identified position (e.g. #6) would probably be acceptable.
I'd take Purdue. He's young and extremely fast.
Lomax is currently just a piece of paper for the Eels. A actual player would be much better for us. If we could get Purdue that would be a win. But currently Lomax merely wants a guaranteed easy finals birth with Melbourne. I dare say Lomax value is plummeting by the day.
NQ would never allow Purdue to leave. Only way he does is signing elsewhere for 2027. He's gonna play 7 this year.
Though some average teams would take the risk on him, issue is he more likely doesn't want to play for them.
none, the NRL should grow a back bone and show some bite and deregister Lomax and ban him for 10 yrs.
Got to be a 6 the clubs shown it's hand in recruitment here by rolling in all that cash for Galvin.
A settled spine is what's going to put this team over the top.
The last time we went to the GF that's exactly what we had that's what this team needs to beat the better sides.
I am curious to how this plays out and the end result. Do we get a player out of this?
Do Melbourne drop off and Lomax goes to Union?
