What More Do You Really Want???

The trial was used as the execution of a game plan by group of team players - NO FUCKING E-GO'S permitted - and this is just the way Brad Arthur has planned and built his squad to be.

Tepai played his role as did all the other TEAM players and we won the game easily, thanks to a consistent, intense team effort.

What more does anyone want????

Seriously, sounding out individual players like Tepai is actually sounding out the belief in the lack of smarts of Brad Arthur.

I get it that the forum is mostly opinion based but when does common sense kick in by stepping back to a much bigger picture where Brad Arthur is really at and coming from and where all his players have trained to perform to the standards of the big picture team effort script - the end goal being the winning of this years premiership.

Did anyone not witness Brad Arthur's culture on performance for 80 minutes last Saturday??? Because if you did, you would not be sounding out any player as being less than what Brad is holding as part of the successful big picture dream he lives for every player in his squad.

If Brad was not like this, then many sackings would have already eventuted over the last 20 months or so (until today).

Fuck me dead........

  • Good write up Chocolate Frog except for the last sentence.

    • Agreed Mick. All coaches dream of solid, stable foundations to build a successful season on top of. We really have the right coach and culture to get us back to the very top. I really liked what I saw last Saturday night.

  • Good write up, Choco, and I agree with you, one trial game and already the swing bushido sword is being swung against players, for me I would suggest that there are too many so called eels fans that have too high an expectation and believe they know more than the Head Coach and others in that team.  Who will be the next on the executioners block in their minds?

How long out from the seasons start, and the woes have begun. The NCLE trial showed out all of those who got time on the paddock both long and short spells with all doing their jobs, what more can one ask for? BA said in an interview that he was happy with the effort, only real gripe was the miss by French on SKD allowing him to score a try.  Its not as if the Knights fielded a poor side either.

    • Glad he pointed out the French defensive lapse Colin. Currently a young, still maturing fullback, I feel that French has been cast from a great mould made out of a mixture of  Bowen, Slater, Barba, Luke Burt and Preston Campbell.

      • Too True Choc, thing is that in many ways Bevan is relearning being at fullback, owing to the shifting around last year, this will be an important year for him, and will very much depend on how soon Gutho is ready to fit back into the team, and then who gets what position in the shuffle.

      • Tad. no one from this end is denying that, you have to look at BA's comment regarding it. In no way am I bagging him for the miss, in the end it was a rep player with plenty of experience that scored the try, and no discredit to Bevan at all.

From what I saw of Bevan on Saturday night I have little doubt he can handle the fullback spot this season and onwards. As I said he is basically relearning that position again.

          • Tad thanks, the winger certainly went inside, thing was that when one looked at the numbers and who was supposed to be defending on that left side, it would have been Auva'a with MJ on his inside.  SKD certainly seemed to have a fair bit of space to run at before Bev got to him,

That also does not surprise me as Auva'a primarilly played on the right side wing last year, and reports have it that BA wants Auva'a on that side, with the idea that Bef may end up on the right wing with Guth at the back.

      • Good observation there Tad. Checked and you are spot on mate. Brad Arthur may be coming from a 4 plays ahead point-of-view and how one or more of our players fucked up leading to the empty space becoming available a few plays later where SKD had the opportunity to flush more of that toxic cocaine out of his fatty tissues, cells and bloodstream.

"He was provided all the legal advice before signing the release and understood the stipulations. Just because R360 didn't eventuate doesn't mean he can force his way out of it lol. Spoilt brat defence is not going to work for Lomax or the storm 🤣 "

"LB, Eli, good stuff gents. We've acted in good-faith. By the book. With clean hands. Lomax appears not to. Still, equity is not unlikely to view an NRL-wide 3-year restraint until 31Oct 28' as overly-punitive and read it down.
We'd still win,…"
