Moses has had a few really good games this season & although he was good on the weekend against the Dragons, he was not at his best. One thing I have noticed is Moses has to get into the game early & when he takes on the line early in games he seems to go to another level. It is just one of thoses things I noticed in the first few games. He needs to get the ball into his hands in the first few sets & take a hit up. Early in the Tigers game he took a hit up & got hit, so I told my mate who I was watching the game with, that Moses was going to have a ripper game because he took a hit early & that's exactly what happened. I know he is the team organiser but he needs to focus on his running game as well as organising so I hope he has a run early against the storm so I can see if this is acually the case.

Well to be fair in the last two games we’ve been on the back foot in the first 30 minutes, hard for him to put his body on the line in that situation, his focus would’ve been trying to manage the situation i would suggest. This is where we miss Dylan Brown, he is at this stage of his career better at stepping up in that situation than Salmon is.
Moses needs to organise the game by kicking better
Moses needs to take a hit up more often
Moses needs to organise the team around the park
Moses needs to improve his running game
Moses needs to put in grubbers, whilst simultaneously putting up bombs.
Moses needs to set up more tries
These are all the things some on this, and other eels forums ask of Moses to do.
Parramatta sack the other 29 players, we only need Moses to do all the hard work.
In response to your statement, most halfbacks don't possess the strongest running game (i.e. usually on the five eight.) Salmon needs to step up more, or else he really isn't cut out for that role.
Youve got no idea. Each team has a dominant half which Moses thinks he is. If thats the case he needs to do all the things you mentioned. Salmon is playing well for someone who has played eight games. I like Moses but at this stage he must be more consistant. Which he is not.
The halves are a mix of a dominant playmaker who organises the team around the park, and a runner of the ball. Can't have one half doing all the work, whilst the other half does barely anything.
Oh really Nick, its a strange game when some of the best to of ever played the game continually pick him in their 3,2,1 Dally M points most weeks. He is on 9 points with the leader on 11. Further he is the higest ranked half back, albeit there are two 5/8's above him. Perhaps if we had a more dominate 5/8 prepared to create more then the pressure could be taken off Moses somewhat giving him even more room to create when he gets the ball. Must be a tough game when the opposition know that the ball is going to go to you 99% of the time because your 5/5 is still learning his way. I think he is going great guns and when our 5/8 Salmon or Brown begin to chime in we will be hard to stop from a halves perspective.
Go parra
All I was saying was I want him to take on the line early because when he dosn't it seems to take him longer to get into the game. I really wasn't looking too hard at any aspect of his game in particular. I'm sure he could take one hit up in the early sets to get him going.
I watched the dragons game on replay last night and I can say I was most impressed with Moses' defence through out the full 80 mins. He pulled off 3-4 one -on -one tackles in dangerous situations.
Moses always runs the ball. He is is always busy and always asserts himself. He never goes 'missing' so to speak. However, sometimes he pulls the right rein on almost every play and seems to break the line when needed. Whereas, other times he is clunky, rushed and acts for the sake of making a play, as opposed to playing with time (or a clear head). I think he is too neurotic and worries about the result and peoples perceptions too much (I acknowledge that is nothing more than an uneducated guess). When he is full of confidence, he kills it. However, when he doubts himself a little, he panicks and pushes the passes and kicks.
Moses is a good half back , he is not great but a good half back and glad we have him .
the he goes missing when the team is struggling is the same as all half backs , only the very best in the Thurston class etc can conjur up anything in those situations
look at all the current halfbacks they are essentially the same .
look at a couple of years ago Morgan was touted as the best thing since slice bread on the cowboys run , but he was able to do his thing because taulomolo was being a beast along with the rest of the pack , this year whilst JT was injured he was useles.
Cleary useless , Reynolds looks good due to the bunnies pack
tbh I think dce is probably the best half out of the lot, he has always performed in a ordinary manly side , cronk is probably another as he makes his team mates better but the rest of the best are really only as good as the rest of their team mates
