For me watching the first two games, the most annoying aspect of our performances has been the handling errors and simple mistakes. Just players dropping the ball randomly and killing any momentum we have. A number of other issues but the handling errors isn't something that Moses can fix for this team.

Also Dylan brown running into the goal post when he was about to score sums us up so far 😂
I wonder how much the weather has come into play. Both games have been 35C+, which we know does start to affect players. Another day game this weekend, albeit slightly cooler. I know the players have trained all summer so should be used to it, but a game scenario is not the same as training.
I agree though, errors have been our worst enemy. Yesterrday's game we looked OK for the first 20 min but started to panic when we could get over the tryline through errors or dumb decisions. It all snowballed from there and players seemed to simply give up for the remainder of the game.
The most annoying thing for me though is that senior players have not stepped up as leader. I couldn't even tell you who was captain out there as nobody was talking to anyone. Every player was just going about their individual game - that's not how you win team sports where the team is greater than the collective individuals!
The weather definitely plays a part but the errors from guys like hopgood penisini Paulo ect with no one near them is basically killing the team. Main goal should be to complete sets and get to your kick but they can't even get that far.
Shades of 2018. We only won about 4 games all year.
Lack of on-field leadership
Zero communication
Same old poor defensive reads & miss tackles by Penisini
Half the team standing around after fulltime, a thrashing didnt affect them
Our fitness not upto scratch
Havent been so excited for a season to start in a long time... now i cant wait for it to be over
Spot on with all of that, it's a combination of bad
The lack of attention to detail, the lack of line speed, the poor first up contact, the poor kick chase and the extremely poor handling.
There is a real lack of cohesion and confidence and that's to be expected to some degree with a lot of new young players, a new coach with new systems to learn. I expected things to be difficult early but not this difficult and I put that down to the poor attitude of the seasoned players.
I think it's a mistake to just keep throwing these young players out into the furnace, I would let the senior players wear the brunt for the most part and blood some of the young guys slowly and in short 2-3 game spells, unless they are killing it.
My team this week would look like this,
1. longi
2. Addo-Carr
3. Penisini (reluctantly)
4. Lomax
5. Russell
6. Brown
7. Hawkins
8. Williams
9. Lussick (hands has been terrible)
10. Paulo (would prefer to bench him)
11. Lane
12. Cartwright
13. Hopgood
14. Smith
15. Doorey
16. Ofa
17. Matterson
Don't hate this side experience definitely needs to come back in. I'd be keeping Samrani in over Russell he played a good game.
Yeah it was a toss up between samrani and Russell, I just think k the next two games are going to be really tough against a dogs team that is starting fast and physical and then manly could really put 70-80 points on the team that ran around yesterday.
You need to add Sam Tuivaiti in there.
He does not get many minutes but his post contact metres is close to 50% of his overall run metres.
See what he can do with more game time and better service from the spine.
