Towards the end of the 2025 NRL season I think a majority of Eels fans had some form of optimism for 2026 hoping it might be a possible top 8 position for the Eels. However this year has turned into one of the worst so far on record with Eels defence one of the worst on record since 1995 and plumetting. If this year gets any worse it most certainly looks like a Wooden Spoon or very very close to it with the only likely opposition is the Dragons but once they start putting a few wins on the board they'll easily overtake the Erls whose for and against is the worst of all NRL teams.. It seriously needs to be questioned IF Jason Ryles and his assistants Nathan Brown and Sam Moa were the correct choices and IF the fitness and conditioning coach is even qualified because this is the most unfit and mentally unconditioned Eels team I've ever seen.. Where to from here who seriously knows. The Eels can't attract any decent quality players and the current squad with or without injured players are bog average. Considering it's been 40 years since the Eels last premiership it has to be asked what is Mark O'Neil, Jim Satantinos actually doing to fix this longest premiership drought in NRL history because from the outside looking in they certainly aren't doing anything accept collect their pay cheque. The current idea floating around seeking tempory short term player loans from.other clubs isn't the answer and in fact could make matters worse and is really only a band aid trying to cover up more deeper serious problems.

Perhaps invest your time, effort, energy and emotion into something other than what's going on with the eels.
I sense there's a lot of middle aged men on here who aren't in great shape. Start exercising, work on your diet, quit smoking, cut back on the grog. There's folk on here who spend way too much time on a daily basis complaining about the club and saying what's already been said many times over.
Make your life better so if the eels aren't going great it isn't such a big deal. My two cents.
Adam a very good two cents worth anf fully agree
Being an Eels fan is character building if you can handle all the shit this club dishes up the rest is gravy.
I mean the idea that everyone is piling on the front office now but were quite as a mouse when the last coach was here and just moved the shit pile makes me laugh.
Whats different but still the same the idea the above has just been moved tells me alot round here don't understand where this starts and ends.
What everyone is complaining about has always been here just in a different guise of crap yet alot of fans just move the needle of blame. Some on here have been saying as much for years but the mob are like mice following the pied piper with the blindfold on.Now this coach is going through the same pain and now fans see it 😂
I still remember a time when at an AGM when Kearney was the coach the board had the FG side front and centre in front of the mob and the mentioned board cowered behind them. That's Parra as a club for the most part they've been poorly led and when it comes to ending a premiership drought they have NFI none whatsoever. That's the clubs DNA sleeping giants they call it.One that just seemingly will never wake up.
As a businessman the solution seems obvious to me. You want to win a Premiership? You need to hire someone who's done that as an Administrator first and foremost. Other changes will flow from that. As you say getting the DNA right.
But they won't. The place is run by accountants and bankers these days. They have a dashboard of metrics to measure success. Winning the NRL Premiership is just one metric in a long list. So if the club is meeting most of its other KPI targets then it's all good.
I feel for the players and coaches. Playing NRL is as demanding as it gets physically and mentally. And they're expected to deliver results with an inferior roster. It's almost cruel.
Unless there is significant change at the most senior levels this club is going nowhere.
"There's always next year" - parramatta Eels motto. (Decade? Century?)
For Christ sake I don't know why there's people on here that put themselves through all the pain and shit of being a so called parra supporter. There's 16 other clubs to pick from . Problems solved
Bloody hell, still early days. We scrape ourselves off the bottom soon. We are riddled with injuries and NRL has it in for the club but f**k them, we'll be fine.
