The Deloittes report states that three players - Inglis, Smith and Slater - had signed or had their managers sign "side letters" with the Storm that showed amounts to be paid well in excess of the contracts they had lodged with the NRL.
Yet some in the media are still claiming that these players have been hard done by.

The media is handling this story terribly (written media anyaway). Why is it just about management. If there is a smoking gun that proves the players are invlolved, put it up in lights... same goes fro Gallop.
The artcile below establishes there were 2 contracts signed, but then they muddy the waters by saying the 2nd contracts signed related to 3rd part deals.
I haven't read or seen to many interviews in the last few days, however has the question being asked... "based on the evidence uncovered so far, is there enough to prove players knew their club was roting the cap".
Seems to me there will be no hard eveidence. Just clues the players should have picked up on and didn't because their managers look after these things.
The players refuse to talk so if they don't admit any guilt the "independent(?)" audit obviously says they are innocent.
You are a skeptical lot on this site.
Why wouldn't you believe these upstanding auditors?
And then if you read the DT you will see they also say the players are not guilty.
So there - you have ALL the proof you need to hang these scum.
I'm waiting to see what the ATO does - let those little darlings try and tell them to P%$# Off and see what happens.
Fines bigger than their overs and possible gaol time - YEEHAA !!!!!!!!
I employ over 1,000 people and let me tell you they get 1 contract each. I cant imagine getting someone to sign 2 contracts its a complete joke. They knew.
Tell me over beers these big 4 cheaters did not compare pay rates. Hey are you getting the free caravan or boat option with your brown paper bag of cash ? Please.
And bellamy banging on about how he knew nothing hey craig did you think you could actually coach ? Ever wonder why you kept getting the best roster in the game. try winning a state of origin game muppet ! And here is your clue Tim Mannah is a prop who goes forward not a 10 minute reserve halfback PUT HIM ON!!!
Exactly on their own they may not have known, although definite alarm bells going off, but they do talk off the field and compare notes. Also I know to news ltd the amounts of money are a trivial amount in their bottom line, but some more alarm bells must have been going off in their finance dept. All that money going to, what was it, the Human Fund?
Which is why I keep questioning News' motives if any in the whole saga. They own the broncos right? A team I've always suspected of bending the cap rules over the years. Maybe they tried the same thing in Melbourne but even after all the success they are still losing money, so they try plan b.
I know at the start of the cap drama the nrl admitted "they didn't know what they had found". Then hartigan turns up the next day at nrl headquarters and hands over all the evidence.
I don't know but storm was costing $6mil a year in losses to run. Maybe they are looking to cut and run, and they see the scandal as their way out? Who knows.
"Not Tad, but it got me thinking, I'm starting to think Poppa could actually be an ai bot planted here by Phillip Sims to actually stir the pot and create havoc, thus gaining more popularity for his site.
I'm around 98% sure Poppa is a robot 🤖…"
"Considering he couldn't knock Api off his perch or at minimum convince the Tigers they need him , I wonder if he's another Galvin type hype . Was only a big deal as it was close to June 30 AND the media were starved of content so made a huge deal…"
"Tad, you are truly a sensational human, I'm starting to wonder if you are Ai?
Love the story about your dads wolf carved walking stick. Thanks for sharing that Tad.
