Flukes live forever, though, Blue Eel. Maybe Russell will be like the casual golfer's occasional top shot, where we say "ha! Told ya, I'm capable of that every round!"?
Watching all the Eels 2025 tries on YouTube tells me, we are going to miss Brown, Russel & Lomax, let's not kid ourselves these players made us play some really fancy football towards the end of last season. Very disappointing to have lost these 3, but we lost around 10 last year to start the year, some big names others were fill-ins. Ryles backed himself & his coaching staff, he trusted the players that filled in & them all stood tall, I see 2026 as no different.
Even worse as we know Pezet's gone end of this season so your resetting again on that side.So regardless what happens this year your still looking for a replacement for DB next off season regardless.
Yeah that would be our third five-eight in three years and Moses only has a couple seasons left after this year and he's getting older so he'll be slowing down pretty soon. I don't think the club knows what they want to do with the five eight. They tried to sign Galvin, then wanted Joash, then tried to sign Pezet long term, then failed on a deal so took 1 year, now we are back to Joash.
There were a couple on the market like Sandon and Wishart today. But the club are still fiddling around on if they should sign a half. It's becoming to much of a distraction I thought it would be resolved by now since Brown announced he was leaving a year ago.

I like the way the eels are approaching the 5/8 market. Have Pezet for a year but we can continue to monitor player movement and see who or what becomes available. Also have Joash and Lorenzo still in their development stage. As we all know contracts mean nothing now so a genuine 5/8 might appear on the market at any time. For 2026 at least we are set but no doubt the club is still looking at other options in market

There desperate is what they are and the Pezet move is just a stop gap.Keeping an eye on the market is fine developing kids is fine but we need to get someone next to Moses ASAP or in a year or 3 the windows slammed shut when Moses's contract is up and then the hole is deep dark and black because there is no one on the market that replaces him.
With our ability to not being able to attract top tier talent it puts even more pressure on this timeline and overall team success.
Jaxon Purdue could be a very good option for five eight and he is off contract now. He would be available for 2027 if we sign him hopefully. Haven't heard much about the teams interested in him either
"I love my friends Samsung
it makes me look fresh faced and not like something the cat dragged in - she takes all the pics when we are together
a scorpio remains vain forever 😆😆😆"
"Carls, good photographic work there. Iphone? My wife's Iphone seems to make everyone look younger.
I think the season does hinge on Moses a lot, injuries, how resilient the team are, as well as Pezet.
