"This is possibly the weakest attempt I've ever seen from an ex trying to incriminate an NRL player. It's laughable and should be treated as such by the Integrity Units.

"From my understanding he joined the club in 2024 as a 20 year old. So 2024-2025 he esentially played JF with one cup appearance in 2025. Not sure from where we got him from."

They've done well considering they've only been a club for a few months. And managed to sign some quality players although they're on the other side of the country, and players face an 8.5 hr flight round trip for each away match
They will struggle hard for the first few years until They align themselves with a strong feeder base. The Dolphins are had success because it was the next wave of players coming through that have stood up. As soon as this team gets some injuries their depth will be tested.
Very average spine thus far. Above average to goodish players only in Meaney, Wishart and Sexton.
Having said that overall our 2027 spine ain't great either: Iongi (very good), TBA (bad), Moses (very good), Smith/TDS (currently goodish but potentially very good).
Still rather have ours.
By 2027 our spine will be absolutely humming. Iongi will be nudging QLD selection, Smith and TDS will be the sharpest hooker combination in the comp, and Moses will be even better than what he is now.
The biggest unknown is on the 5/8 role, and we may see either Papalii or Lorenzo fill that gap. Either way the other guys will have a few years under their belt and can cover those guys.
I hear what you're saying, but I don't want a player in FG that needs to be 'covered'. That will detract from the others own performance. We've already seen that happen. Moses tries too hard to do everything. It doesn't work.
The 5/8 ( whomever that is) needs to stand on their own feet, not be covered by others.
Wonder what happens in 2027 if Joash doesn't work out at the 6 jersey and Lorenzo is not ready yet? We've seen multiple players with well known names as young kids doing good things then don't translate to NRL. What would we do then as Moses only has a couple years left? Would we sign or just keep developing? Of course I hope it works out but we would have to be prepared for these things
We are all hoping that is the case
I totally agree, and just to be clear, I would have preferred us keep Pezet for a long-term contract.
But this is what's coming, so hopefully Papalii or Lorenzo workout as Ryles plans.
That's us Eels supporters' motto ...we live in hope.
I thought our motto was...for fucks sake
