1 thing wrong, "Im sure he still coached parra with all his efforts and knowledge" he sat on his ass all year getting paid for nothing, he stated the playing roster was too crap to do anything with, to justify doing nothing.
Fuk they must be deaf and blind.
true....but the money parra offered was double from what he was already getting as the coach of NSW.
Nice theory. Lets say parra exceeded everyones expectations this year and finished 6th. Do you think stuart would have the left the eels the way hie did?
yea i do cause the plan was hatched a yr ago between him and a board member at Canberra, in any case Ricky knew the roster he had and knew there near to no chance of making the semis, who knows he might have even held his coaching back from the Parra players.
The extension was Stuart sowing doubts that he was actually going, to avoid the obvious question and in case he did not get the Canberra deal, though I would say he has been pretty confident for a while. Wasn't the get-out clause only after the first year? This meant the plan was pretty solid from the start. Pick up $800k for a year at Parra and start at Canberra in 2014 on even higher. But it would never have worked at any club but Parra because no club would have paid him that sort of dough and tolerated a no-strings attached get-out clause. I have no doubt Ricky talks a good game and I bet he is a dab hand at flattery. At Parra, he talked himself into an extra 200k and that get-out clause. How could it happen? Because getting screwed over in contracts is what we do. As the wankers like to say, it's in our DNA. Putting a stop to that will be a big step forward.
PS: none of which means it's not a cool idea!
Bazza, I'm with you 100% on this theory and I would think only a few people were in the loop on this plan because Dave Furner was still the Raiders coach and it was kept on the QT until the Riaders had a good enough reason to give Furner the flick.
