Ryles has seen what he has to from both Volkman and Hawkins what he'd be trying to establish is do we have a long term first grade 5/8 in our current system .
Im sure Ryles has figured out Papalii in all likelihood is not that man.
In my opinion I'm going to market but I'd still like to throw some of these young lads into the furnace to see if they can absorb the heat.
Itll give you a better indication of how long it might take for them to develop into that role which only helps with your recruitment strategy.
If a player can't straighten the attack by digging into the line while ball playing,hold his own defensively , have a first grade standard kicking game , pride himself on support play and be a good communicator he doesn't play first grade at 5/8.
Does he play currently for the Eels? This is the biggest question involving the Eels for 26 .
We know the answer to the question with Volkman, Hawkins and I beleive we've seen what Joash limitations in his game are.
What we need to see is What Hunter or Talataina have to offer.
If the futures now , let's have a look.
That's footy and tbh least he gets a break; the kid has played NRL all year and had a great start. Let him recover and go from there.
I would move Brown to bench or FB and keep Papalli with Moses as he had not had this chance to play with him yet.
Unless we bring back Mark Laurie to play 5/8.... :)
Good point Mitchy. NRL is a cruel game, particularly for a Fullback which the most physically non contact position in the game. He has handled it well but also after rookie season in the position his body is still adapting. A few weeks off not overly needed now as we have 7 weeks left but hey good for him to sit and rest his body.
Though i disagree with Brown at 1. He has a good combination with Moses at 7.
No issue here LB; just thinking to give him a chance with Moses back; TBH FB can be Russell for me and keep Brown on bench or 18th player

Every time we get a backline player returning, this time Penisini, we lose another back to injury and turd Russell stays in first grade.
The guy is a walking curse.
YES BEM!!!! He started the year then when finally Simonsson was about to return in Round 6, Lomax is out. Then in Round 11 when Lomax was to return Simonsson is out. Then when Simonsson was about to return again, Penisini suspended, Now Penisini set to be put back in Iongi goes down.
It reminds me of Ryan Fitzpatrick in NFL. He was a QB and everytime he went to a new team, their starter would get hurt and he woud inevitably start. He played for 9 teams and started for them all.

I have been saying it the last 8 - 12 weeks with the backline injuries and suspensions we have been experiencing.

The line up for Friday? The answer is a pineapple at this stage. We have some options to play with, that's a bonus . Interesting to see how we play with Moses back. Seems like everyone gets a little more confidence when he is playing.
I've had a feeling we have been cursed for years now ( if you believe it that sort of thing ) slowly becoming a believer.
