THE biggest talking point out of the NSW State of Origin camp in Coffs Harbour was star forward Anthony Watmough’s discontent at his NRL club, the Manly Sea Eagles.
Long-considered a one-club player who would never leave the Sea Eagles’ Narrabeen headquarters, the chances of Watmough remaining at Manly beyond this year are lengthening by the day because the Blues enforcer is fuming at the way his mate Glenn Stewart was forced out of the club.

Contracted with the Sea Eagles until the end of next season, Sport Confidential has been told Watmough was telling Blues teammates he could well end up at the Parramatta Eels next season. Despite all the denials, there is an ever-widening divide at the Sea Eagles between the club’s senior players and star halfback Daly Cherry-Evans.
It’s not the first time Watmough has wanted to join the Eels. The Sea Eagles icon also entertained the idea when Ricky Stuart was coaching at Parramatta.
COULD Eels cult figure Fuifui Moimoi be destined to end his career with neighbouring
rivals, Penrith? Sources close to Moimoi tell us he has been tossing up a mid-season move further down the M4.
On Thursday Penrith general manager Phil Moss denied any talks about getting Moimoi on board, while the Eels have reported no knowledge of the story.

BRING ON CHOC, id love his experience and toughness at parra, he still has plenty to offer, and is just the type of toughnut we need to teach the young blokes a thing or two.
And good luck to Fui, if he is not going to get a run here id love to see him at the panthers, i think he still has plenty to offer
The thing you keep hearing around League circles is this issue with Manly players and DCE. Manly look like they have a very big decision to make - cut loose DCE and keep the bulk of their senior players together or let blokes like Watmough go and start re-building other areas of the club. Which every way it happens it won't surprise me in the least if we benefit.
DCE is the future of that club. You can build a club around him. The senior players, whilst their experience will be missed, it's not everyday you stumble upon a halfback as talented as DCE. Clubs would kill to have him.
I'd be over the moon. Watch him carefully and he is the biggest talker in the line whether he plays for his club, state or country which is a trait in a leader I think would benefit us greatly. Having someone like him to mentor the likes of Tanginoa and Pauli would be a pivotal and beneficial aspect that he would also bring.
yes if Manly still paid him about half of that i'd take him for 2 years. no more.
if he is a sook about DCE it means he will be a sook that Haynses contract will squeeze someone out as well. we do not need him.
