Saw this with the Lakers and many of the issues they have are very similar to what Parra are dealing with.
Man U much the same until the above mentioned is executed and you have the best in place off the park then we'll start to see real tangible results on it.
Alot has been put on JRs plate which just isn't realistic without the correct supporting people and a plan in place behind him. This is so key.
Back to the Lakers and there new owner he's all about spending money in the key spots especially infrastructure which is key for onfield success.
Theres lessons to be learned here.

Above wont change they getting too much for doing nothing.
Even though it's not supposed to be Ryles who instructs the top brass, he can make requests. The answer is always no anyway if you don't ask. Ryles has had a lengthy relationship with Frank Ponissi. He will know exactly how he operates. No harm in Ryles asking for the Eels to go get him if he feels it would benefit the club - and therefore himself.
Frank seems happy to have chosen to work with the NSW origin team rather than all his past and present Storm buddies in QLD set up. Maybe he might like the idea of joining a NSW club side if the price and timing is right. No harm in asking.
💯 like Vito Corleone mentioned making him an offer he can't refuse.I mean horses head in his bed 😂
You me and Coryn are absolutely on the same page here. Our club's strength is Leagues Club $$, we don't have brown paper bags like like Uncle Nick or Rusty. We don't have overwhelming corporate support like the Broncos who have had Brisbane all to themselves for so long. We can't buy a roster because of the Salary Cap but we certainly can buy the best CEO, GM and support staff for Ryles money can buy
I think you guys need to understand where we have come from. Specifically in the last 10 years, we were on the fringe of non existence.
It seems that you have the formula but not the ingredients or capacity to understand the difficulties involved.
Ryles is doing his thing and I would like to think that the "front office" is doing everything that he wants or within the reason of practicality. If he is not getting that he is not going to hang around for long.
In the interim it is a process of understanding where he and the front office is. The new chairman maybe doing everything he can to expediate the process. If he is not happy with what he sees then it is up to him to change the process.
My guess at this stage this is happening and it is just as obvious it cannot be seen by "fans", too much micro management by "fans" who are more interested in the "media" of what happens.
Individual things happen we have no idea about and that is frustrating the "people" on here.
Coryn's post is wonderful in a rhetorical sense of a war story but the war is ongoing.
I don't pretend to have the answers but plenty on here do. People need to be patient, we are one year out of BA's sacking and all the changes subsequently implemented.
Our pathways represent the first part of that and they appear to be on the right track.
We would all like to see success from where we have come from but realism says its not that easy.
I am sick of hearing the critics of everything that happens, but those people that constantly criticise do not offer solutions other than sacking people. Yes there are people on here that are constructive.
PS This is not a critique of what Coryn is saying, in this blog, he is offering a solution but we don't really hear it, just offer more criticism. and whinge like shit.
The front office i believe would be doing their best, even MON would be doing what he thinks is right for Parra. Question should be are they good enough in their job to get what Ryles needs. Ryles has shown glimpses of what he can do, he has shown he can be a great NRL coach, need to limited the excuses to him not succeeding.
in the last 10 years, we were on the fringe of non existence......In our current state there is no reason to believe that our existence long term is probable....if we cannot stop going from spoon to middle, then back to spoon, then rebuild, why should we exist? What is the fucking point of us? How does our fanbase replenish under these conditions?.(it doesn't)......Our fanbase is our only guarantee of an NRL slot....money is reqd, but it is not enough to ensure our future.
Look around us on the all-time spoon list....they are gone and no one much really cared
I don't think Eels and Man U have much in common in their malaise.
Man U have overspent and got the best in class everywhere, including off the pitch, but still are a circus.
We are doing well. We are being aligned through the grades in style. Coaches aligning in their philosophy and helping each other led by the first grade coach.
This will be helpful after Ryles leaves, we need to make sure this alignment doesn't break down when that happens. That's the job of the O'Neill's and Sarantinos.
Otherwise, NRL recruitment is not that different within clubs in terms of strategy. You get teams like BUlldogs who TPA and Phil Gould skullduggery but mostly it's not some deep knowledge. In Soccer the geographical area to scout and get value is so big (the entire world). Hence you need proper connected and knowledgeable people.
Having said all that, I am all ears for replacing O'Neill. But I think people overestimate how different it would be. Lots of clubs have tried to get football managers from other clubs that are supposed to be the best but doesn't usually work.
Plenty in common.Ask yourself why Man U have over spent do you think that comes from a plan or competent ownership.Do you think Man U owners have had the correct sporting structure around them to succeed.
Theres plenty to unwrap there but what comes to the fore is having the best people and a plan to succeed I suggest both Parra and Man U have very similar issues just the numbers are bigger at Man U is all.
I take your point about the numbers I guess.
