Saw this with the Lakers and many of the issues they have are very similar to what Parra are dealing with.
Man U much the same until the above mentioned is executed and you have the best in place off the park then we'll start to see real tangible results on it.
Alot has been put on JRs plate which just isn't realistic without the correct supporting people and a plan in place behind him. This is so key.
Back to the Lakers and there new owner he's all about spending money in the key spots especially infrastructure which is key for onfield success.
Theres lessons to be learned here.

I like most of the sentiment here barring the 2nd paragraph. Why not Katoa. He's on 500k a year, rumoured to want to come back to Sydney and now worth way more than that. That's a player managers wet dream scenario. I'm guessing this is the same post where Coryn was talking about exploring these sorts of situations. The tigers most definitely didn't want to lose Galvin and look at where we are. The rest of the post I do agree with. We need to get creative with some of our strengths and offer a point of difference
Interesting watch, thanks for posting Coryn.
And great posts by yourself, Bluey, Angry, Bup & Pops here. Good reading.
It's a great discussion, and while we don't know the half of what's happening behind closed doors, these are questions that have to be asked based on results & evidence.
Bluey, love how you've put that in simple terms, we understand these guys are doing their best for Parra, but is their best good enough. Especially when up against the heavyweight clubs. It's not personal, or emotional.
We can't know the ins & outs but would really like to see the Eels go through R&R with a detailed review, as we did with our pathways, even if just to improve / evolve processes.
Bup, love the 'wives' angle. Very innovative & would hold a lot of sway in the decision process, and Pops also very cleverly mentioned education which feels like a brilliant opportunity. Pops is onto something there.
On education, I did some work with the launch of PHIVE , the new library in Parra, and they have a huge amount of education possibilities for all ages & training in a heap of industries. So players extended families could benefit.
Its not about pointing fingers & blaming individuals, but, asking questions, identifying areas of concern & taking action, evolving, to give ourselves the best chance of success.
Are we doing all we can & just need a bit more onfield success to attract talent? Or are we missing opportunities other clubs aren't?
Angry, I'd offer Katoa an open cheque to be an Eel for life, watching him closely again last night, he could overtake Moses & Cleary within a few season imo.
100 gold as per NoS.
The problem with this rebuild is we are paying about 15% of our cap on one player in his prime by the time we are done in 2-3 seasons with this Moses is probably done hence why I'd have no problems offering Katoa a 10 yr 1.3-1.4 mill per year deal I'd take that to his agent and swing for the fence right now.No regrets doing it either.
