i love it how people go crazy the minute parra is talking with someone. when it become public that we were interested in quade cooper everyone went quite on humble, morts and robson.

yes quade cooper would be a terrific buy but seriously, over the last couple of months we have been interested in trent barrett, matt orford, brett kimoreley, brent sherwin. for all those 4 players i can remember clearly that the media or people on this site said "we are close to signing ...".

so in my opinon dont get your hopes up for quade cooper, although he would be a great asset to our team. remember we have got great halves who have proven their skills such as daniel mortimer and jeff robson. they proved that last year in our spectacular run to the grand final.

i no for a fact that no team can reach a grand final without good halves, and they must have been playing well if they got us to the grand final without being dropped. and tom humble, so many people have said this kids got so much potential and he has. so why is it that when were intersted in someone from another team everyone goes quiet on him?

in my opinon i think we should stick with one of those three halves. this is because if we play them together they will gain confidence and get more experienced. if we do sign a half from another club one of those 3(morts, humble and robson) will not be playing first grade most likely and thats when they may look to move on with the club.

cheers

  • Morts played 5/8 and Robbo played half going into to the GF
Morts was re signed for too much money and eveyone said he was "the half to replace Sterlo"
Humble plays 5/8 and that's where he earned his reputation, so we are going to try to turn him into a fullback by the looks of things.

When the board / coach or whoever decided we needed a half to mentor our half, so that our half could learn to be a half, they made public offers to players we never had a chance of signing.
There is no forward thinking from these fools as they have let promising players go because they relied on their own egos to sign these unattainable new players.

Plus we would not be able to whinge and moan to the NRL about getting more money for our junior developement if we actually made a real attempt to keep our promising juniors and this gives us one of the greatest circus acts of all time.

The fans and supporters get NO feedback from the hierachy on who they may be after so we (the idiots who actually pay their wages) are treated with the utmost contempt.

Based on all of the above - who the hell do you think you are to ask these ridiculous questions? (joking)
  • lol , all im saying is that we build up morts, robbo and humble but then when we come into contention of signing a great half everyone seems to forget about who we already have.
  • I totally agree with you but I chose to say it differently.

If we played the guys we have got in positions that suited them we wouldn't even be looking for a 1/2 or 5/8

Surely Friday nights effort should have shown the "brains trust" something.
  • IMO Humble stuffed it at fb Muttman but did put in a good performance at 5/8.
He put the effort in but struggled to make any impact.
I don't know how he is going at fb with Wenty so you may have info that I don't have access to.

Humble shows good form closer to the ruck with pretty good speed off the mark so perhaps could be used similar to KK to open holes for Hayne and co.
    14 or 6.
Ant Mitchell however has thrown all our "great" theories into disarray. lol
