Rugby league in America is growing. They're about to launch their own domestic competition and Canada has the Toronto Wolfpack competing in England. We'll see a steady growth of athletes who don't qualify for the NFL playing rugby league in the States and possibly then looking at either the Wolfpack or lower grades here to try and crack it professionally.
You would probably want to aim for college kids, cause it will take a lot of work to adapt to the difference. Definitely lots of talent over there though that don't make the cut.
Would be hard to attract athletic college students. Many of them are on scholarships due to their athletic talents and I doubt they'd give those up to play league.
I should have been more clear. I mean the kids who have finished college but don't get recruited straight away.
Better off aiming for high school kids, or even younger still. By the time the kids have reached college age their bodies & skills have already developed for American football, not rugby league. Awfully hard at that age to unlearn and retrain them at that age. Silas Redd mentioned the hardest thing he has found is passing the ball, it’s just not a skill he has ever had to learn.
Lol
A waste of time, its been done before over the years, just more pie in the sky stuff.
What do you mean Snake? We're not talking about some one-off athlete in the future. The U.S. has a domestic rugby league competition and they're working on making that more professional with the idea to turn it into a competition that runs from March-August as the spring/summer option for NFL fans.
Snake where is your optimism. That post is reflective of the mouth on your avatar.
