We all agree that we have been in a nice slump for some time. Our attack has suffered to the point we cant score more than 6 points on average per game. Last night was a good start as it showed that we are trying to do the things we are capable of, particularly in attack. The positives from last night :
Positives :
1. HAYNE was selective when he ran which adds to the explosiveness and opportunities. When he decided to run - he did so with such venom. I liked the fact that he wasnt another forward for us like he has been.
2. MORTIMER - was probing and pushing through the line a bit more. Kicking game bit better.
3. SMITH - he makes a huge difference to the team. WE NEED him.
4. POINTS came from good angles and some structure and shape with the ball.
Negatives :
WRIGHT - not a NRL centre in my opinion. Defensively OK but terrible hands and limited vision in attack.
REDDY - Poor reads in defence all night - two tries down his side.
INU - Ditto. Marginally better in attack....but every 3 games not good enough.
MOI MOI - Not playing well - maybe injured ? Limited game time tonight.
Means nothing that win if we dont string together 3 or 4 wins NOW. This short turnaround is going to be a huge thing. BUT I think the ship has turned a bit and we may be sailing in the right direction finally.
Nice to win and play reasonably well.
