Trial to be aired on Fox

Keiran Foran will lineup for the Eels in their pre-season clash against the Panthers: GettyIn the first time in the two clubs history, a broadcaster will air the last trial game before the season proper with the Parramatta Eels taking on the Penrith Panthers on February 20th.The Daily Telegraph revealed that Fox Sports has decided to air the game in a historic move that seems to be motivated by the likelihood that key signings such as the Eels Keiran Foran, Beau Scott and Panthers Michael Gordon will be a drawcard for people to watch the match.The game will be played on February 20th, 7:30om at Pepper Stadium with the Eels taking on the Panthers in their regular pre-season derby.Eels acting boss John Bouloous told The Daily Telegraph, "This is great news for Eels members and fans across Australia, especially as we build up to our season-opener at Pirtek Stadium on March 3," he said.There's plenty of footy coming up in the next couple of months including the Aukland Nines (Feb 6-7) and the Charity Shield on February 13, but this is the first time a broadcaster has decided to air the Eels v Panthers pre-season clash.Bring it on I say!!!

This is good.. At least we can see some of the new talent we got. Will be normal rules or trial game rules?

Glad to see the NRL has woken up, even if only slightly, to the standard of coverage they should be giving fans.

lol, we haven't been competitive since 2009, the NRL constantly stick us with the thin end of the wedge, yet Fox deems us worthy of a televised meaningless trial - go figure!

Great that it's being aired - although I really enjoyed watching forty's webcast last year - I've never watched a game via that medium before - it was unreal. Fox can't replicate the feeling that you are actually watching the game thru the eyes of a supporter like forty did - it was like I was actually sitting in the grandstand :)
