- Iongi - I told you he was rated as the best fullback yet to make their NRL debut at the start of 2024. By the end of 2024, some people who watch a lot of NSW Cuo actually rated Iongi better than NRL fullbacks at other clubs. He is a pretty well rounded player. Great support play and showed his ball playing.
- R Penisni - I thought he was solid. At 20 years old, like his brother Will, he came through the juniors with great attack but a great defender which is very rare for a young centre. Was very physical and confident in defence why I love to see.
- D Brown - he may have not been the main attraction on the highlight reels after the first try. But his balling playing in the middle in straightening the attack was brilliant as usual. Once his normal edge comes back of Will and JAC he will be more dangerous.
- Volkman - as I said in the rookie report, he will be way to good in NSW Cup. His attack is amazing. But he has a lot of work to do on his defence. He is a small body and then he has poor defensive reads as well. Keeps his legs planted in defence as well which is a big no no against shape.
- Guymer - bloke was leading the line speed and folding blokes. I really hope he gets a spot in the NRL side over Katauga (too ill-discipline espcially with Tuilagi on the other edge).
- Tuilagi - bloody good ball and hole runner but needs to fix his errors still. Not trying to push offloads etc. Still fixing that discipline up.
- Papalii - that great acceleration. Will be fighting for a 14 spot. But I recon Ryles will keep him in NSW Cup fullback spot to start the year.
- Tuivita - I was really impressed with him. Some great runs and found his front. Good motor for someone his size as well.
- Mataele - Nice atheltic forward. A season in cup and he will be even better. Just hope for no injuries this year.
- Smith - Can see why he easily over took Lussick. Will be fighting for the 14 spot and 9 spot alll year. Could see him overtaking Hands by the end of the year.
- Twiddle - Mini Teddy. Good passing and running game.
- Latu - The next backrower we need to groom. IMO. My prediction for break out player in cup. Runs and tackles hard.
- Lynn - was actually impressed. He played his role well. But still a long way to go for him defensively.
- T Brown - Him, Tiwddle, Nanva will spend most of the year in Flegg. He is a big and atheltic boy. Player of the year in flegg. Will be pushing hard in a stacked nsw cup squad.

Having such a shit coach and coaching staff is the only excuse a lot of Parramatta players have , the vast majority only had Brad Arthur as coach and as a result have not been coached .
True the only plan that dope had was " chase the collision ', ask yourself this question - why did it take so long to develop Gutho, DB & Moses? BA shitty limited coaching philosophy is your answer, took him 9 years for him to touch base with Warren Ryan - Jason meets with the wok in a month or so, all the. bA lovers can jamm it l! Any decent head of football would have sacked his arse much earlier! Anyway BA thought he owned the club and now its coming back to the people that matter which are the fans
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think the Eels have become over excited when attacking in the oppositions 20 metre area. They became far to sideways in their running lines. Attacking is far more lethal running straight lines with short passes. Playing with patience is key. Sometimes dominating possession for 10 - 15 minutes attacking your opponents try line without success is more valuable than scoring a try straight away. Those 10 - 15 minutes will provide many benefits later in the game.
The biggest issue IMO with BA in attack was the setup plays and the inability for our halves to play to one another. This was the issue with having a dominant pack we were basically a left or right sided team and our halves weren't on the ball enough.
Inside the attacking zone it was magnified more this issue because we weren't creating enough ruck speed they relied on set up plays attack and trick plays with offloads to win the day.
It got us as far as it could then just ran out of juice.
As I've said though attacks not the issue it's defense if Parra don't get there middle and edges secured this year we'll still be running into the same issues.I saw bits and pieces of it last night when Newcastle got a run of possession the edges were still getting exposed.
Agree we have been one of the worst teams in the comp in opposition 20.
I feel it's been both coach and personnel .
we traditionally spread ball slowly with no real purpose and also no real speed in players that are decoys that even look like they are going to receive the ball and ball runners are just taken easily.
the first try to brown came about as their was options on his outside and inside and we were playing with speed and that's why it opened up for him. He could really be damaging if we have the right players surrounding him
We are on the same train EA.I know even on a bad day with a share of possession Parra has enough strike to put on between 20-25 no problems. We have been basically scoring at that clip for the last 5 years plus.
Defensively we are imbalanced 20-21 we were in the top tier defensively this is where we have to get back to if we have any chance of winning the comp.
The highlight stuff is exactly that highlights it can gloss over alot of issues.
There is a player, he is a rough diamond that needs shining and came to the club a month and half after pre-season started. I wonder if he would have been different with that extra time. But definately something there.
I thought in attack the Eels played more direct than they have in recent years. The halves were quick and the middles ran between defenders rather than looking for collisions.
The defence was solid for most of the game. They did get out numbered on the fringes a couple of times and this needs to be better. There line speed and ruck dominance was much better than it was in the past few years.
Overall I was both, impressed and surprised by the Eels performance last night. My expectations for 2025 have increased from what I seen in trial number 1.
That's what I saw too. If you really ask me, it looks like we copied the warriors attack over the last 2 years. Alot of digging straight into the defense to hold it up and then going wide.
Not alot of the old offload stuff either
