Top Thirty

I . I have read all the blogs and find them interesting, I would like to point out that Corey Norman has been replaced by Stefono UTOIKAMANU  as the 30th man, which I imagine should please a lot of members, going by the blogs I have read.  The main thing to prevent Parra from going higher up the ladder, will be the coach, who seems bereft of new ideas,

    • It's the sign of an utterly useless cunt to think that success is all about ideas. The kind of dope who sits around trying to dream up the next big idea to get rich.

    • The 2018 reel, you gummy bedwetter

  • Hi Keith, has this been published anywhere as we only had 28 top squad players on the books last week.  With Norman leaving we have 27 players.  Dylan Brown will naturally replace Norman making it 28 again.  As we don't need to have 29 players on the books until Round 1 I would find this weird we have done this.  I look foward to reading your link.

  • How dare you accuse BA of having no idea!!! He bleeds blue and gold, he’s a Parra boy!!!

  • Ther are 30 now

Does that mean we are not buying anyone with our $800k

    • At the start of pre-season when the official squad was announced, Mahoney, Brown and Utoikamanu were all in the development squad: https://www.parraeels.com.au/news/2018/11/02/parramatta-eels-2019-s...

With Norman gone (and no official upgrades announced) we still have three top thirty spots and three development squad spots available. Brown, Mahoney and Stephano Utoikamanu will all be in line for one of the top 30 spots while these guys are all competing for spots in the development squad: Dunster, Faingaa, Parry, Schneider and Filia Utoikamanu.

The Parramatta Eels has officially lodged its squad with the NRL by naming 28 contracted players and three development players for the 2019 season.
    • Hi Wile, P.E. explained it well below.  As we have money left in the cap we will not rush to fill our top 30.  I'd suspect BA will want to see the young guys at the first trial before making long term deals.  The number of player photographs on the Parra website has never been a true representation of who is in the top squad (last year was a prime example as a number of juniors played first grade).  All clubs need to have 29 on the books by Round 1 and 30 on the books by June 30.  With Kaysa coming off a shoulder reconstruction you would think Mahoney will be upgraded prior to round 1 as well as Brown leaving one spot.  We may also get an established hooker prior to Round 1, which may mean Mahoney is not upgraded.

      • Agree

Would think Mahoney should be upgraded anyway

He has already proved himself as capable

      • Check out the Wenty squad on the Parra website!!!

still lists Beau Scott, Auva'a, Davis and others - even has 2 photos of Davis with one used as a photo for Rhys Davies!

        Seriously.

"I don't think that's a fair comment. With exceptions to Jennings and Fergo a lot of the players mentioned were developed under Arthur. Moses, Gutho, Papali, RCG, Cartwright, Lane, Hopgood, Niukore  are all better products having played under Arthur.…"
