Quotes from Tommyboy on 27th May and his utter beilwderment that I rate Bird as an origin player...
"I agree with Colin above, Bird must have some dirt on some one, because hes not an origin players arsehole"
Link below.... and this just 2 days after Tommyboy had Soawrd in his side.

Gregorys performance tonight was inspirational to say the least and he thoroughly deserved that try.
I still stand by the inclusion of Soward in my side selection though.
In defence of Tommyboy though, in the first 4-5 weeks of the comp Bird was playing woefully for the titans and has only really got back to his best over the last 4-5 weeks.
He was awesome last night. Our backrow of Gallen, Bird and Lewis with Watmough of the bench is just fkn awesome.
HOWEVER - the blog you refer to was May 27th and at that stage Bird had been touted for origin BEFORE game 1 and at 5/8th
You have conveniently left this out of your post so guess who looks like a complete idiot by posting this crap.
ToMmYbOy and myself where correct in saying what we did at the time because Bird was NOT producing well enough at 5/8 to include him in the Blues squad as our #6
In case you missed it Bird played in the forwards last night to reinstate the "Bruise Brothers"
I was offended with the venom of the attack I saw as personnal.
I didn't conveniantly leave anything out.... I posted the link.
Now you are trying to suggest I look like a complete idiot....I didn't see form as an issue and below is my reasoning that I posted on the 27th May. Obviosuly you are not man enough to admit you were wrong which makes you look and i quote : "look like a complete idiot by posting this crap". Do you hoenstly think I am small minded enough to go out of way to prove other posters wrong when I am right... NO way...I felt Tommyboy was out of line with his personnal attack and had an opprtunity to say... "disagree all you like, but you look foolish if you crooss a line".
This was my post from May 27 below... when Barrett to was playing poorly otherwise I would have had Barret at 6 and Bird at 13 or 14.
Fair call Colin. I wish Bird had more form on the board... BUT
Bird is an Origin player. He has won multiple MOM awards playing for NSW and Australia. You want the best playmaker then you pick Soward.... however Soward will simply not get the opportunities that present themsleves in club footy. Its simple.
You want the most dangerous centre.... then maybe Jennings. But again he just won't get the space he has at club footy. No point in taking a Ferrari on a 4wd track.
I want NSW to pick Origin players. "origin " players are ones that have:
The ability to bend the line with their runs... regardless of position.
Tackle all day withoout making massive misreads (hitting hard and additional bonus)
proven they handle the big stage.
Hayne, Lewis, Bird, Gallen etc have proven themselves to be origin players.
That is were my response came from because Bird is not a 6 - never has been and never will be - simple.
He is a LOCK or backrower.
Based on Bird's form up to then I would have to agree with ToMmYbOy that he was not an origin player.
Even his previous origin record is under a certain amount of controversy re MOM.
With so many people and media screaming for Bird at 6 (including you) I was pointing out that it was totally unwarranted.
The manner in which you posted this thread was / is misleading to me and I have seen it as you twisting(?) an argument to your advantage and thereby making you "look like a complete idiot"
Perhaps a little more claryfication in future posts may help any misunderstandings.
EG. "I was offended with the venom of the attack I saw as pesonal"
Which attack? ToMmYboY in the original blog or my reply in this blog or both or what?
Havind read all of both blogs I do not see where you get the idea of personal attack from.
We disagreed and emphasised our disagreement.
If I ever get personal you WILL have no doubts about it.
Easy to get things mixed up - isn't it?
If you would like me to cut and past the comments from Tommyboy that crossed a line I can... or you can just read the section properly.
The only one mixed up here is you
You and I have had some intelligent disagreements on a couple of occassions and in my blog re NRL double standards you managed to convince me that I had "jumped the gun" which I accepted and then stated that I appreciated your input and obsertayions. (not a direct quote but I think you get the idea)
I have re read the blog re Bird and although ToMmYbOy expresses himself quite firmly in his disagreement of you, I personally do not see his comments as an attack on you but just a guy saying it the way he sees it.
The written word has NO expression or body language - it does not smile or laugh they are just words that we as readers will interperet according to our own feelings and mood at the time.
EG if I am to say in these blogs something like - "Don't be stupid" - the recipient has 2 choices. Take it as an insult ie. I am personally attacking his intelligence- OR - try and project my mood into the response and take it as an off the cuff remark of my disagreement to what we may be discussing. ie. a non personal statement.
Sure some of the comments were very direct and perhaps ill chosen - but the difference is this;
You took them as a personal attack and I see them as someone disagreeing with you in an emphatic manner with his point of view. But that is the way I approach things - you obviously approach them differently which and it is your right to do so.
Has this made my position a little clearer?
