Time to clean up things a little

During the off-season, I've been a little more relaxed in terms of what comments we've allowed on the site, however now that we're kicking into the football season proper, I want to flag that I'm going to be more aggressively deleting comments and blogs which don't meet our code of conduct.

Code of Conduct

1. Do not abuse, threaten or harass other 1Eyed Eel members, regardless of whether they agree or disagree with you

2. Limit swearing. Before you use any language that might be deemed offensive, keep in mind we do have some younger Eels fans on the site, and ask yourself is it really needed.

3. Never sexually harass any 1Eyed Eel members. Every female member of the site should feel like this is a safe, non-threatening environment

4. If you're going to criticise the players, club, officials, coach then it must be argued in a rational, reasonable fashion. Simply saying 'such and such' is a $#%# is not on.

5. No thoughtless trolling from non-Eels fans. Again, if you're going to come onto this site and start bagging our club, it better be extremely well thought out and reasonable debate. And equally, I remind you that the quickest way to get rid of something you don't want to read is simply not to reply and watch it quickly slip away in the archives.

6. Videos, pictures and avatars should not be offerensive; ie depicting nudity, sexual acts, etc.

7. Do not set up profiles to mimic or fake other members

If you have something deleted, take it as a warning that you've crossed the line and accept the decision.

Looks like the new season is really on its way, which means its time for me to come out of hiding!

I hope everyone had an absolutely wonderful off season and is as excited about me about the upcoming season!

Well done 1 Eyed, I must admit I was giving this site till round 2 and if it wasn't cleaned up I was out but hopefully this will help.

I am in agreement with this ethos but it seems to me that nominated mods are asleep at the wheel. Keep it clean, relevant and robust. I think this site has great potential.
