TIM MANNAH TO RETIRE !

Over the years ive given Tim plenty of stick but id just like to wish him the best in his future after footy.

Ive been waiting for this day for a long time and often said id throw a party when he calls it quits but having just heard the news i find myself having strange feelings of admiration for the bloke and what hes given to the eels over the years and to the community.

Its rumoured this year will be his last and he may have played his last game as he is out indefinitely, also saying hes struggling to keep up with the pace of the game and the damage its doing to him with all those head knocks.

I wish Tim all the best and thank him for the courage hes shown on the park during his time here, and respect to him for being man enough to know when his times up in the NRL.

Its great to see him put his brain health and family before footy, its just not worth becoming a Mohammad Ali down the track, and youd think our club might be liable past a certain point because its plain for all to see he is struggling big time, thanks for the memories Timmy.

  • Unfortunately there's nobody to take his spot if he were to announce his retirement . We will be stuck with him until 2019 . For a club with such a big feeder area I can't believe we don't have a million big young bucks pushing these older guys out .

Have all the coconuts gone home ?
    • My thoughts exactly! I think we need to move all our talent scouts home and just get them to watch our jr catchment area!
Surely there's got to be a couple of Cohen Hesses and Taulmalolos floating around somewhere in the west.
    • If he retires, how will we be stuck with him till 2019? We cant make him play on
  • Well put Snake and good on Tim for realising the game has gone past him. He has given the club his everything over the years and should be proud of his  efforts.

    • Well said Nidge and credit to him, i stated the last few weeks that if he really cared about the club he'd retire, good to hear thats whats happening and credit to him for putting the club first and lets face it, any more head knocks could turn him into a Mohammad Ali later down the track.

  • All the best Tim
  • What you talkin' bout Snake? Retire? What's more you've gone soft on him? You've been his harshest critic and have time and time again said that you'd celebrate the day he leaves the club. It's a bit premature to call his retirement if it's just rumour at this stage. But if this is indeed true, we would finally be rid of the last player from the spoon years and can finally move on. Best of luck in your life, Tim.

    • I just dont want to be disrespectful at this point, yes im very happy hes going, ecstatic in fact.

This is a time for wishing Tim all the best and thanks for the memories.

    • Also the last player to have played in a final for us, what will we do without this invaluable experience. In fact Jennings would be the only bloke left who has played in a final ,maybe Norman as well?
  • Ok. I reported the other night in chat that Mannah was  out indefinitely due to repeated concussion issues.  Snake, have you received further info?  Please tell me this is not another Anthony Cherrington shite stir.  Is this fair dinkim?
