Three Way Tussle For Luke Garner

What are peoples thoughts on Luke Garner from Penrith, he has been given permission to find another contract ending his time at Penrith with a year to run on his contract. Able to play centre and second row. He has played most rounds this year for Penrith. Very versatile. The Eels are currently having a red hot crack at him behind the scenes. St George and now Manly have also entered the race for his signature. If Ryles wants him, and he is in demand by other clubs, I wonder if Mark O'Neil and his team can get it across the line.

  • Would be a good signing but don't go breaking the bank to get him, if he wants to join come on down. Definitely would make our 17

    • ×2

    • How does he make the 17?

      1. Iongi
      2. Lomax
      3. Penisi
      4. Simmo
      5. JAC
      6.
      7. Moses
      8. Paulo
      9. Smith
      10. De Belin
      11. Williams
      12. Kautoga
      13. Hopgood
      14. TDS
      15. Tuivita
      16. Moretti
      17. Walker

      Who is he playing over?

      • You might have to bring that up with Ryles. Is he better then Penisini  and or Simmons. Do we get injuries. Just some of the questions I'd be asking myself. I would also ask myself if that is the team your referring to except for the addition of De-Bellin then that's this years team running second last.

Certainly not an exciting pickup, but they are attempting to sign him none the less. Experience perhaps.

        • Cant really say this is the team is the one coming second last when there have been so many injuries throughout the year. We have not fielded our best team once. Also we have so many rookies in the team rather than established players so they will continue improving and really all players are still getting used to JR new systems as well

          • There's room for this guy, he played well against a couple of rounds back.

Where will he fit? if we took that view we would just have 17 players, the reality is we will have injuries and maybe in the right circumstances players that can be rested. Paulo and Taviti at opposite ends of the spectrum could be rested and Garner has GF and a winners background.

      • Thats easy EA Penisini in a heart beat

  • Imagine being excited about potentially signing a guy who was released by a club during their wooden spoon reign!!. Is this what we have to look forward to, seriously!! 🤣🤣🤣

    • Tigers will probably finish above Parra....just saying...we are not a desirable destination, therefore this is the best we can do, unless we break the bank

      • They will and who cares, they bought better than we did and have done nothing.

"They were getting too old for Flegg and we have much better for NSW Cup. I would've kept one of Lewis/De Straddis as they are versatile, but they would have started in Ron Massey so can't blame them going for a better offer. "
