THREE Parramatta players have been called out by a member of the public for supposedly being poorly behaved and “obnoxious” while on a midweek drinking session.
Senior News Corp reporter Phil Rothfield told the Fox Sports’ Big League Wrap on Monday Eels trio Corey Norman, Michael Jennings, and Nathan Brown were investigated by the club last week.
It came after the club received an email claiming the players had been drunk and behaving badly last Monday night while on the booze in The Rocks in Sydney.

“I can reveal last Monday night three Parramatta players — Corey Norman, Michael Jennings, Nathan Brown — were out on the town, had too many drinks in the The Rocks,” Rothfield said.
“The next morning they had an email from a patron at the hotel saying they behaved poorly, they were obnoxious, they swore.
“I think that is a very silly thing for those players to be doing when they’ve lost the first three games of the season, to be out on the town.
“The club’s answer when I went to them, and I’ve given them the benefit of the doubt, they spoke to all those players and they admitted they had been out, they had been to dinner then they kicked on.
“They said the players hadn’t behaved as poorly as that email suggested.”
Whether the players were poorly behaved or not, Rothfield says the entire Parramatta squad should be focused on turning their form around rather than midweek drinking.
The Eels are yet to win a game four rounds into the NRL season, after being tipped to finish in the top four this year.
They lost to Wests Tigers on Monday to make their season record 0-4.
“It comes back to a perception thing ... when your team’s playing well no one cares what you do,” Rothfield said.
“People are looking for extras when you’ve lost three games.
“I think it was a dumb move to go out. Go out and have dinner but don’t kick on, go home.”

This wouldn't be any part of the eels problem would it?
One name just always seems to pop up doesn’t it . Sack the Kent FFS .
Norman has to go with BA and Tim, they can all fuck off.
It’s not illegal to have a drink 8 days before a game. Let’s keep some perspective about this.
Swearing and being a bit silly again isn’t against the law.
No it’s not , but it’s a fair indicator of where they’re at .
Mutts, you are correct on both points but! I would at the same time say you are wrong.
The reason is simple, what is the next step for the three players, more especially one particular player involved as he is in all reality a twit on too much money, gee how long ago was it when he was suspended by the NRL, the only difference is drugs were involved then, also it was at the casino, thing is that Alchohol is also a drug that can have detrimental effects on people, especially someone who seems to not want to grow up. Other aspect is that it happened in close proximity to the Casino, another incident in the area where he should be staying away from.
I am surprised that MJ and Brown were involved, but maybe they were a calming influence and helped with keeping the matter as a low key one.
Actually swearing is against the law, especially using certain words in mixed company and when children are around, and that does not mean a mid 20's person who still has a lot of growing up to do should be exempt from that sort of behaviour. If any other patron in the location had made a written complaint to police then the 3 of them could have been in serious trouble, bare in mind that a patron did notify the club about the behaviour and believed it bad enough to advise the club of what took place.
The aspect of what Rothfield said also is something that is spot on and has a lot of truth to it, its the last thing the club needs to have on its head at this point of time, thing is that now its out in the public arena, who's to say the NRL's integrity unit may not get involved as it could be said it has brought the game into disepute and one player its a second time.
