I personally was surprised that the Cowboys were given the ball after the their trainer interfered with play. I thought the Eels should have been given a penalty and the video ref should have examined if Ado Car could have scored as he's super fast and was definitely in a position to do so. Trainers shouldn't be allowed on the field during play or at least should remain out of the play area

I reckon if the dud ref considered the trainer as part of the Cows team on the field, they should have been penalised since the ball bounced towards Purdue who was on an offside position. The dud ref just made his own rules and will might surely be out of next week's games. He is too dumb making the calls if not deliberately doing it.
In the last play, the ball was obviously caught on the inside of the lead runner which is clearly a penalty against the Cows but this ref still gave it a try. Don't know if there are betting going on.

From my understanding it should have been a scrum with our feed as it happened in our attacking end of the field. That's the rule if it hits a ref and the ref determines it had an impact on the play. This incident definitely had an impact on the play as the ball was going to end up in goals.
That's the old rule, HKF. Changed after the 2019 grand final to the team who was in possession or who had the last touch.
The thing that annoyed me more is the rule states a trainer can only be out there for first three tackles. NQ trainer stayed there for all 5 tackles and a few after we had it.
This is where the lazy arsed touch judges should be earning their keep.
This is also why the fools in the bunbker too can make a call; when these guys train the trainers are not in the middle.
Trainers only to be on the field when a player injured / scoring play / the ball is dead; it is simple.The game has had too many rule ammendments etc and it is never black and white.
We were sitting behind this yesterday and it was laughable as the all could have slid into the ingoal and we force a drop out; which changes the game again.
This is easy. The trainers shouldn't be on the fucking field unless there's an injury. End of story.
The question I ask has Abdo and co ever played the game , I have my doubts.
