The Unicorns Strike Back

If some of you people can check in your hipocracy after last week, it may be you will be able to see your own biases.

Have a read of what Pro Daz said  about scapegoats. You called it well Daz and it showed up how people change given circumstances and whinging.

I suggested we would possibly  not win another game this year, but it does not stop me from supporting them. Most of our stalwarts were in that position and a week is a long time when you have blue and gold blood.

I would like to say that our middle is much more capable than we have given credit for. We played like a hunting pack and moved up behind Moses kicks in the backline and some of you owe an apology or two to Junior and JDB. Of course MON has been extended for 10 years with options, but everyone now supports that and the ones that said Jason Ryles cannot coach are out in their backyards looking for holes to hide in BUT we all know "they will be back" wagging their tales behind them.....next time!

Moses  literally strangled/suffocated them to death, those Dog forwards must have been sick and tired turning around after Moses kicked them to death.

Look nobody expected us to win that, and I didn't bet on the game, but I would not of backed us with gifted money, styles of play that various teams play makes a big difference to our team.....we currently struggle against any team with pace and dogs showed today they are short in that respect.

Regards to Mallee57 who put shit on us all week as part of his coming on to this site, knocking everything he could about the coach and admin staff......a week in a Rugby League comp is showing up like a week in politics........ back to the Kennell for you  Mallee and a special call out to Sir Col The Mushroom (up in the sky) who was a great character and had some wonderful relationships with the Dog's supporters.

Some one said Parramatta is a boring side, not bloody likely, we are rocks and diamonds but never its ever a boring experience supporting Parramatta.

    • We need another Hooker, not sure if Da Silva can get full 80. Maybe he will be fine but not ideal incase Da Silva goes off at any point. At least with Joash you could get by for 10-15mins at Hooker, but already at Fullback.

      • Well how would Pryke go there LB, what's his pass and hands like?

        • Oh i wouldn't put Pryke at Hooker in attack. Maybe Walker as desperation and just have someone like Pryke just play that Lock role. Pryke is a middle, tuck it under the arm and run middle.

If Pryke was in the 80's he would play 150 games.

But yeah Walker maybe is the one if Da Silva goes down if Smith is out.

    • Don't be absolute Chiefy, express opinions by all means, but you and others have absolute statements that are just opinions, you know the "arsehole" story everyone has one!

It seems to me sometimes by being absolute you are telling them (the team, coach, admin etc) what to do, make it out to be something to think about and add value, i.e "Kelma cannot be in the team from now. I think that's it for him at Parramatta"

The absolute is "cannot be in the team now" why not next week or when he returns  and it will be difficult for him to be picked now? the reality is we don't know and social media is notorious for thinking they do. Kelma is a good example of that as JR continues to pick him when many wouldn't.

Many/Most on here myself included were of the view that Walker should not start.....well in the end he didn't....do you think we influenced that......do you think Jim Saratinos rang Ryles and said the majority on IEE are against Walker starting? no but you think that Saratinos is some sort of village idiot......he is NOT......maybe MON should be gone and 99% on this site would seem to think that.....but there must be a reason why he is still there? even I am saying the perception is so strong that nearly has to happen.....but I do not know the system he works under, I have speculated in support of him but it is a little like saying, how much can a guy get undermined before the jury says we better convict him because we are not getting anywhere with all the other things coming up

NB Don't come up with some wild conspiracy theory to explain all your absolutes! LOL..... no one doubts your heart is in the right place, but you keep giving yourself the wrong medication, stick to the happy pills.

      • I think Walker not starting helped set the tone. He came on fresh and our attack was a lot better. De Belin took on the brunt of the traffic early and Walker came on after 20.

  • Dave me and she who must be obeyed were sitting there in total shock. It was good when the doggies supporters went pretty darn quite a good effort by the boys

    • Hell Yeah Hector!!!

    • Hey Bobbie, I was sitting in a cororate box at the SCG in 1986, and they were all Dogs supporters, even had Blue and White sandwich's, they asked would I like one, I said no I would prefer to eat shit.

I sat through that game, enjoying it of course \until the full time siren went and do you think they didn't go quiet! I then asked if they had any sandwiches left as I don't mind eating shit after a Grand Final Win.....they looked at me with some hatred, but here I am 40 years later and they can still eat shit! ........of course the real lesson I learnt was "every dog has his day" and that is the message I send to all our supporters who don't understand there are always winners and losers......enjoy both sides even if it means eating blue and white sandwiches. LOL

  • Their first contact was the best we have seen in 2026. No coincidence they mostly kept the Dogs to their own half. Big lesson right there.

I also thought Pryke was an effective tackle machine, Maetele hit hard, and Williams-Guymer and Paulo were more solid on edge and in middle defensively. Lots of obvious lessons. Tackle hard and swarm in defense and anything can happen

  • What a difference it is to have a referee who doesn't nit pick with 6 agains. Both teams fought 'til the end, didn't have to fight fatigue for long periods. I wouldn't mind betting the ref will get dropped next week for going against protocol.

Credit to Adam O'Brien, he certainly can not get that Dogs attack firing consistently.
We need to further improve our defence to beat Manly at Brookie.
Great to see a game flow for once.
Solid debut from Pryke. "
