The salary cap

Now with Inglis off to the Broncos, I started thinking about their squad for next year. Well to say I am totally digruntled is an understatement.

I cannot see how they can fit Lockyer, Thaiday, Parker, Wallace, Hodges, and the sign Hannant on a big deal then Inglis, Then the re-signing of all their youngsters to upgraded deals.

How is it that the Broncos and others like the Roosters and the Dragons can keep or sign new talent?

P.S Don't get me started on the dogs recruitment drive!

  • i agree they are all active in the market and the eels are sitting on their hands im completely pissed
  • They have a lot of youngsters who would be on bugger all.

McCullogh, Gillett, Norman, Glenn, Yow Yeh, Hoffman, Winterstein, Hunt, McGuire, Dodds and Anderson are all playing first grade this weekend. You can afford to buy players like Inglis and Hannant when you've got so many cheap young players. The good news is we could target one or two of these when they are looking to be re-signed. If nothing else than to up their price to stay at home.
  • True but a lot of those youngsters were either re-signed last year or this season and they are among the best young players in the game thus would have been quite desirable on the market.

I'm with the thread creator, Broncos 2011 Cap = Suss.

Saying that though Broncos Cap since 1988= Suss.
  • This has once again shown the power of the third party agreement.
  • Salary cap? - What salary cap?
  • That being said, what third party will get their moneys worth out of Inglis? He has less personality than a dry nappy.
  • Yeah it is definitely suss but the Broncos have always been like this. The younger players play for peanuts as they are so stoked to be just running on the field, remember they were the only club in QLD for years so they have a huge following and a great culture... as much as I hate them.
I don't think Locky will be on that much as he's probably been getting side payments from the thoroughbreds for years, probably why Cullen is now moving on from the Bronco's ha ha ha
  • strange how news limited are the major owners of both clubs, so in fact, Inglis has not really changed his employer at all, or am i being a little to suspicious,
  • It was proven that Bennett was getting money in a brown paper bag from a sponsor so its almost certain the players are on the same deal. The Broncs have been rorting the cap since day one so it shouldnt really surprise anyone,im actually shocked that they hav'nt poached slater aswell.

"When you look at it that way, 1.2 is a lot. I reckon he has more in him than what he's showing at the tigers. Under Ryles he'd be a different/better player in my opinion.
