After reading 1 eyed article regarding the victim culture I thought about why I had been feeling exactly that, Like the NRL has it in for the Eels & after a season like last year it's to be expected. I still think the NRL could have handled it a lot better than feeding the media. Then later today while looking through the internet I saw a story Pamela Whaley called, I've always loved this game.
What this story highlighted again for me is how the media seem to only focus on the negative stories from the NRL as you can see from what Pamela wrote.
( The truth is, for the handful of negative headlines that have bombarded us recently, including banned-substance use, domestic violence, gambling on NRL games - three of the most serious blights on the game - there are hundreds of acts that go unnoticed.
Literally hundreds of good stories every single week. )
The rugby league reporters make their living reporting on the NRL but all they seem to do is bring the game down. I'm sure all NRL fans would have a brighter outlook on the game if we weren't constantly bashed with bad news stories. There is a lot of good thing in rugby league so why don't the reporter's try focusing on a few of those.

This is true to an extent but its similar for all media, it thrives on drama and im convinced RL thrives on drama and always has.
Lets be honest, what article will you click on?
The one thats a feel good story about some young up and comer making it from Tinga or some breaking news that a RL star/player has shit all over a hallway and shit in somebodies shoes while on a bender?
Its the latter that forces people to read the article, its human nature.
It's pretty obvious that negative news stories sell mre papers than positive stories
